Olivia is a huge Star Wars fan. Over the years she has collected many Star Wars themed products and toys. Last year, I even made her a Star Wars Xmas Eve Box. It was a big hit and she absolutely loved it! So when I was offered the chance to review Star Wars Ultimate Co-Pilot Chewie I know Olivia would be over the moon. Especially as Chewie is her favourite!
Part of the Furreal brand, Chewie has over 100 sound and motion combinations making him the perfect for co-pilot for your Star Wars fan. Chewie reacts when he is in motion and responds in Wookiee language and sometimes in other surprising ways too. He laughs, roars and snores and responds with funny facial expression when you interact with him.
Furreal Star Wars Ultimate Co-Pilot Chewie is designed to be played interacted with and played for ages 4+
What Olivia Thought of the Furreal Star Wars Ultimate Co-Pilot Chewie.
To be honest he was always going to be a big hit with her. She is obsessed with anything Star Wars related so an interactive Chewie was a winner before he was out of the box. He comes with demo batteries included so you will need to replace these when you take him out of the box. These, along with the on/off switch can be located in his back.
You are able to move his arms and legs to put him in a sitting position and his arms move when you interact with him too. One of Olivia’s favourite movements and ways to interact with Chewie is to watch him sleep. Lie him down and he wiggles as if he is getting comfy and starts to snore as he falls asleep! This does stop once he is asleep if you don’t pick him up. He also closes his eyes too.
To get him to do different movements, there is a button in his stomach you can press to get him to make different sounds and movements. But he will do this automatically as you play with him. If you leave him standing up alone, he will also carry on chatting (possibly shouting?) to get your attention to play with him some more.
Chewie has an activity belt around him, but as far as we can tell it doesn’t seem to be removable.
For the most part, his fur is really soft and smooth. But certain parts feel stiff and tacky as if they have been over sprayed with hairspray. This is mostly on the back of the head and face but I’m not sure if this is true of all of them or just on our one.
He really is great to play with and Olivia has loved playing with him since we took him out of the box. I bet this will be a huge hit with Star Wars fans young and old especially those who love the more interactive aspects of toys. If you would like to see more of what he does and how you can get him to do certain things check out our short video below of Olivia checking out Chewies features for herself!
