I love finding new bath and products. Like a magpie, I am first attracted to anything that looks nice and pretty. Something that sounds good, looks good and is appealing before I buy it.

So when I received this gorgeous purple box containing a selection of bath, body and home items from Arran Sense of Scotland, I knew I was in for a treat. Just by looking at the packaging!

For over 30 years, Arran Sense of Scotland had been creating scents that embody everything that is Scotland, especially the Isle of Arran. From a small family soap business started in an old dairy farm, the company has gone from strength to strength.

With fragrances that boast all the unique qualities you would expect from an area of natural beauty such as the Isle of Arran, you can immerse yourself in nature and the fresh sea air no matter where you are!

My Arran Scent of Scotland Review

I was treated to the uber-luxurious Mother’s day Gift Box. Encased in a robe of deep purple, the times it contained were nestled safely amongst a shredded paper bedding that providing the perfect way to travel ensuring my products arrived exactly as intended.

Do you ever just look at something and marvel at how pretty it is and think how you don’t want to use it so you can keep it just to look at? Same! However, the delightful descriptions of the alluring scents of the products proved too much. And despite not having a sense of smell, I dove right in and tried to catch a whiff of what I now imagine the Isle of Arran to smell like.

With branding on point, I had to really try the bath, body and home items to really get a feel for how they smell (well, for Olivia to smell) and more importantly feel on my skin.

My Thoughts on my Arran Sense of Scotland Mother’s Day Box

Setting up the elegant yet generous reed diffuser set first, my room flooded with fragrance quickly. In my mind, the scent is light and slightly sweet but upon asking Olivia I was met with a ‘look’ and a shrug! She said it is very strong! With no visitors due to being self-isolating mostly except for work, I have no other opinions to go on!

The After the Rain gift set is so nice to use. This set boasts the signature scent of Lime, Rose and Sandalwood. From the generous lather and silky soft feel of the bath and shower gel to the soothing and easily soaked in body cream, the scent is gently layered so you can enjoy the fragrance throughout the day. Teamed with a hint of fragrance from the rollerball, even I catch a whiff of the scent every now and again as I move. I am not totally sure what I am smelling but I like that I can catch even the slightest hint of scent every so often.

There is no greasy residue and my skin feels soft and cared for after each use! I will be sorely disappointed when I run out of this!

However, the hand cream is my must-buy! If you are looking for something to calm irritation from frequent handwashing, then this Rosa hydrating hand cream is for you! I had super sensitive skin so I was a bit wary about trying this, especially with already cracked skin. But I needn’t have worried. In fact, to give it the full seal of approval I even used it in place of my face moisturiser. With reaction and perfectly soft and well-moisturised skin on both counts. Amazing for dry and thirsty skin – I am very impressed! Even better, it promotes anti-ageing so a definite win from me.

This brings me onto the After the Rain Discovery Set. Miniature versions of the main set, I have yet to use this and I am saving it for when I am next allowed to book a night away once the lockdown is over. The same with the Grapefruit and Shea Butter Soap. I have so many hand washes and shower gels open right now, I want to save it so it doesn’t get wasted but I am confident it will be just as delightful as all the other products in this stunning set.
