Finding the Perfect Gift for Family Birthdays

Do you have a birthday season in your family? It is March and April. It is an expensive, crazy busy, expensive time of year buffered by lots of food, cake weeping as bank accounts dwindle across the board. This year’s schedule for family birthdays runs as such;

  • 2nd March – Birthday
  • 4th March – Birthday
  • 17th March – Birthday
  • 21st March – Olivia’s Birthday
  • 22nd March – Mother’s Day
  • 7th April – Birthday
  • 12th April – Easter Sunday
  • 18th April – Birthday
  • 20th April – Birthday

And relax……..

Over the years, we struggle to develop suitable, fun and unique gifts for each birthday. This year, I have been lucky enough to collaborate with some amazing brands to collate this gift guide with ideas for lovely presents that will be gratefully received.

These all come with the One Frazzled Mum seal of approval and will be gifted during the birthday season this year. Descriptions marked with * have been gifted for this post or current/previous reviews.

I hope you find some inspiration from this gift guide for family birthdays.

Personalised Items.

We love a good personalised item. We indeed have many items that have been perfectly created with family at heart.

sequined cushion with a picture of two girls

*Olivia is in love with this personalised sequin cushion of her and E. Create yours at Asda Photo from £16 for the sequin cushion

personalised mug from asda photo

*Who doesn’t love a good personalised mug? There are so many to choose from at Asda Photo, and I am sure my sister will enjoy her morning cuppa from this one featuring all the girls. Gets yours from £7 per mg in a range of different sizes and styles. (the pictured mug is the 150z magic style with mo border around images)

black and white photo slate with decorative flowers

*How about a photo slate? Another brilliant item from Asda Photo, the slate is a quirky way to treasure your favourite pictures. We ordered the full photo slate 9″ x 4.75″ for £14.

close up of a claireabella jute bag

I love Claireabella. This year I got this gorgeous jute bag on sale to give to Olivia. I also ordered one of my nieces a Claireabella Kid’s hoodie for her 11th birthday this year.

Kitchen Gadgets

I don’t know about you, but I do love a good kitchen gadget. Now, don’t get me wrong, if you tried to gift me an iron, I probably wouldn’t be happy, but if it was something I was coveting, then I am all for it.

*This 3 in 1 blender from VonShef, £27.99, is brilliant for budding chefs or cooking enthusiasts. Unfortunately, I am neither, but I do love me a good gadget, and I will be putting this to good use on those occasions when I do venture into the kitchen for something other than a cup of coffee.

a 3.5l cosari air fryer next to a black soda stream

*How about this Cosori Air Fryer, £69.99? I love mine, and it is so much better to cook in than my oven, if I am totally honest.

Self Care Items

wooden bath caddy with wine glass book and candle

*I have been after one of these bath caddy’s for a while now. With space for a glass of wine, my phone or a book, a candle, what’s not to love! Find this one at Beautify for  £24.99

gift set from beautify

*For the bath caddy, we have this lovely little self-care gift box, again from Beautify, for £26.99 to help you indulge yourself and have a little pamper time.

box of guylian chocolates

*If it doesn’t involve chocolate, is it even self-care? Guylian have the nicest chocolates, and they make amazing gifts. The trick is to stop before you eat the whole box at once.

ursula loungewear set

You want to be comfy when indulging in self-care. So check out this fabulous Disney Villain Ursula Loungewear Set, £20 from Boohoo.

Decorative Items for Family Birthdays

grey blanket on a sofa

*Is there anything better than snuggling down under a soft, warm blanket on a cold winters day? This Faux Fur Throw is £24.99 and is perfect for my living room, and is ideal for getting cosy underneath.

hexagonal mirror with lights around it and a cushioned pink heart

*Style up your room with this gorgeous hexagonal mirror from Beatify for £9.99. In this season’s gold colour, it will fit perfectly with many styles and brighten up any room you choose to put it in.

grey photoframes with flowers and headphones

*These Grey Velvet Photo Frames, £9.99, are absolutely lush. I don’t think I have ever used that word to describe anything on the blog before. But they really are. In a soft velvet grey, I love them. I don’t really want to gift them to anyone else!

gin glasses and decanter set with bottle of strawberry gin

For the gin lover in your family (it is me in ours!), why not treat them to this or another of the gorgeous sets from VonHaus. Glass Gin Decanter and 2 Balloon Glasses Set, £15.99 or why not look at the stunning Irridescant Gin Tea Set for £21.99!

Clothing

black leggings and pink headphones

* Love Leggings really are the best. In a wide range of colours, I already have the plum, Olivia has the sports leggings, and now my sister will be the owner of a pair of every day Black High Waisted Leggings, £15.

girl wearing a white hoodie

*Hoodies are the in thing this year. Cookie Dough Kids gifted us this personalised hoodie for Olivia, and she loves it. The personalisation is discreet and perfect for teens.

hotter star shoes in grey

*Hotter Shoes are ridiculously comfy. They are worth forking out for and are ideal for all the family. Especially those who like to indulge in long Sunday walks around the coast! I have been trying out the Star Shoes, £75

Toys

selection of outdoor toys

*We are heading to the summer. Outdoor toys need to make an appearance and are a great way of getting everyone out in the fresh air for some fun in the sun. A classic Outdoor Booma Boomerang, £8, Mega Jump Skipping Rope, £7.99 and a Mega Bounce Inflatable Ball, £20, are timeless classics reinvented for a new generation. Shop the range at Wicked Mania now for all your outdoor toys for this summer!

kawaii box items in a hamper

A Kawaii subscription box is perfect for all young kids. With stationery, squashies, accessories and sweets, what’s not to love! This one is for A, but K was gifted it for Christmas and loved it! $20 per box; this is a monthly subscription box.

disney princess colouring book

We love Disney in this house. So it makes sense to buy some ‘grown-up’ colouring books. Olivia loves art and being creative, so I managed to get her this Disney Princess Colouring Book and the corresponding Disney Villains book too! The pictured book is from Typo and is currently on sale for £3. Don’t worry; I bought her all the pens she needs to keep her colouring for hours too!

a boxed dream catcher

The definition of ‘toys’ changes slightly; we have moved onto the more decorative items, but I still like to get Olivia to be a little bit creative, and she has been after a dream catcher for a while now. I got this Macrame Wall Hanging Kit in the sale in Typo for £6.

boxed samsung a10 mobile phone

OK, so a new phone isn’t a toy, but teens will regularly ask for new tech, especially phones. Whilst I am lucky Olivia doesn’t ask for the top of the range models, after over 2 years with her current phone, she did want a new one. Plus, it saved me the headache of trying to think of the main present to buy her! As we have sim-only deals with Sky Mobile, I bought this phone outright from Carphone Warehouse.

I hope you got some inspiration from this gift guide for ideas and places to buy from for gifts for family birthdays.

Luckily for me birthdays etc are spread out. Love the star shoes from Hotter shoes. They look really comfy. Unfortunately, out of my price bracket. Love the jute bag too

Unfortunately, nearly all the birthdays in our family fall in December which is not great with Christmas happening then as well. We absolutely love a personalised gift too. #KCACOLS

Lovely round up of ideas. I personally like consumables – candles, wine and food. And spring flowers. Other than that, I’m not fussed lol! Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time!

A really useful post. My wife will only settle for personalised gifts. I have bought all sort of other weird and wonderful (and some quite expensive) presents over the years but only the personalised ones ever survive!
