My youngest niece, A, is a huge Trolls fan. And I mean huge. She watches it when she is here and at home and of course, loves Poppy. I mean, who wouldn’t love the perky pink princess who saves all her fellow Trolls! Except a Bergen but we all know they are bad.
Of course, a playset allowing her to dive into the world of Poppy and her fellow Trolls was going to be a big hit,
but how much she would love it, I couldn’t even imagine until she opened it.
Trolls Pod’ular Troll Tree RRP £44.99
This set is aimed at ages 4+. A is 5 this year so she is the perfect age to get the most out of this set. There are little pieces to it, namely the figures to play with the set. So if there are young children around it is something to bear in mind. Fully plastic, the treehouse clips together easily, I just followed the image on the box and in no time A was happily playing away and assuming the role of Poppy.
The pods on the tree provide the perfect hideouts for the Trolls and A was jumping from one to another as well as hiding inside the tree. For a relatively small set, there is a lot to do. We both had fun swinging Poppy down the zip wire as she showed her friends around the treehouse.
The largest of the pods actually closes up which is perfect for escaping those horrible Bergens! As is jumping into the tree itself too. This set is always out for A to play with.
It’s the first thing she asks for when she comes round and happily plays for hours with it.
If you have a little Troll fan at home this set is a great way to get the imagination flowing and developing young minds as they create new adventures for the Trolls.
If your little one would like to save the Trolls from eaten by Bergens, then this would be a great addition to add to a Trolls collection or even to start it off. Available from Argos for £42.99 and currently for £37.99 on Amazon. This set can provide hours of fun.
Additional figures for the set are available separately.
Hair in the Air Poppy RRP £34.99
A doll with 14inch hair! What’s not to love?
What’s more is this isn’t only 14inch pink hair, but pink hair which lights up and plays a song if you brush it a certain way. 100% perfectly capturing the imagination of A who couldn’t wait to get brushing.
It didn’t take much to get the hair to light up and A loved it. Using the brush to mould the hair and activate the lights A loved Poppy’s hair. Although it didn’t take long for her to give Poppy a bit of bed head too! For ages 5+, A is slightly younger than the recommended age, and even though I could see why – the small comb and amount of hair – she loved styling Poppy’s hair and I didn’t in any way feel like she wasn’t old enough to play with it. I was supervising her just in case of any issues.
There is a switch on the back of Poppy’s body to switch the lights in her hair on and off but by using Poppy’s comb you can unlock melodies and set off the twinkling lights in her hair. A was able to activate this feature quite easily, so easily she has played the batteries out already! But, be warned, the hair can get messy very quickly if your little one decides to give it a more ‘out there’ style! As it is quite frizzy it took a fair bit of brushing after A ‘styled’ it to get it looking neat and smooth again.
