Olivia pretty much has dolls from most of the major ranges of dolls. We recently had a big clear out of dolls she no longer played with and passed them on to her younger niece. This doesn’t mean she has stopped wanting more dolls, she has just narrowed down the ones she does want.
Her favourites still include Monster High and the Project Mc2 girls. If you haven’t come across Project Mc2, they have a show on Netflix and the girls are passionate about S.T.E.A.M. projects. On top of this, they are also spies too! Very cool.
The dolls are available to go alongside the series and each come with an experiment to make to keep in with the show and character of the girls. Olivia already has a couple of these at home at her dads and was really excited to receive the new McKeyla doll complete with glitter glue tattoos. As this is similar to mixing slime it’s safe to say she couldn’t wait to get this open and decorate her arms in some cool tattoo designs. But no need to worry, it is all completely safe and they wash off super easy ready for school!
First though came the delicate extraction of the doll and all her accessories from the box. That’s never easy, is it! But being the pro she is, she didn’t need any help and all I was required for was to take some snaps as she made and applied the tattoo glue.
You get the pot, brush and stencils with the doll. McKeyla also comes complete with an eye mask too. All you need is some glitter, PVA glue and food colouring. We had everything except glitter but Olivia decided to forgo this part and just go for some colourful designs.
Project Mc2 McKeyla The Doll
McKayla is your standard doll with moveable joints. But Olivia absolutely loves her. Not only does she rock some seriously funky unicorn hair, she is also wearing Olivia’s favourite style of dress in one of her favourite colours too. And let’s not forget her unicorn headband. This doll is bang on trend right now.
Glitter Glue Tattoos.
Pretty easy to make and all instructions are included so you can be tattooed in mere minutes. Olivia did it all herself and only needed slight assistance to keep the stencil still. She opted for pink, of course, and went for the star and moon design on her hand.
Whilst Olivia is a little older at 11, this doll still appealed to her and most definitely would to younger fans of the show. All the different characters come with their own experiment so if glitter tattoos aren’t for you, there is another girl who could have the talent you are looking for. But for us, McKayla was absolutely 100% suited to Olivia. If any doll was going to grab her attention it was this one.
If you have a Project Mc2 fan at home, these dolls are a great way to introduce them to something they may not come across and spark their imagination that little bit more. We definitely love them and Olivia recommends them for any young girls.
