Caketoppers, More Than Just a Cupcake.
So over on Twitter I keep getting asked these questions. They all involve cake and me and would I like to try some. Erm…… is the sky blue????? (I know it’s winter and most likely grey but I swear as I’m writing this the sky is blue promise)
Of course I said yes, who turns down cake seriously! Not me that’s for sure. Caketoppers wanted to send me out 2 of their personalised cupcakes to try out and see what I thought. As a professional cake eater *ahem I have a duty to my readers to try out cakes such as these to give you the best possible advice for when you buy cakes yourself. It’s a tough job but one I think I am ready for, well the eating part anyway.
Over on Caketoppers you can find a whole range of different cakes and topper options to suit pretty much any occasion. With a personalised picture to top it off it makes them all that little bit more special doesn’t it! With prices from £5.95 for an individual cupcake and delivery options to suit your needs it makes for sending someone (me please) an extra special gift through the post.
Were Caketoppers more than just a cupcake?
To start off with they looked amazing! I received a classic sponge with white icing and a chocolate sponge with chocolate icing both topped off with my blog logo (imaginative I know but it looks damn good on the top of a cake). I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was not to eat them as soon as they turn up. They were individually wrapped and protected by bubble wrap (who doesn’t love bubble wrap! Possibly the people who say no to cake?) Despite being jostled around by the postman as he rummaged in his bag for all of my mail they arrived in perfect condition. It’s always good to know especially if you are sending as a gift right!

I lasted around 10 hours before I gave in. Olivia had the chocolate one without icing of course and I had the classic sponge with icing. Even though I’m not repulsed by the mere mention of icing like Olivia I must admit I’m in the less is more camp. I did enjoy the icing it was lovely and sweet however personally I couldn’t eat too much of it. But that’s just a personal preference. But the pièce de résistance was the sponge itself. Just perfection. Moist, soft and fluffy it melted in my mouth. You just want more and more. A cupcake is not enough. I didn’t get a look in with the chocolate sponge but there was no complaints, remarks or anything from Olivia so it must have been good. If she didn’t like it she would say so or spit it out. Her empty plate was proof enough it passed the fussy Olivia taste test!

They look delicious right! Hands up if your mouth is watering right now and you are debating popping over to Caketoppers to place a cheeky little order! *raising both hands* How does winning a box of 9 star cupcakes sound? Good I’ll bet! It does to me anyway, you can always share them with me!
There is 1 prize of a box of 9 star cupcakes. The competition runs from midnight 25/11/16 to midnight 16/12/16. Over 16’s only and delivery to UK only (certain restrictions may apply for delivery off the mainland) Caketoppers closes for orders on 21st of December. To account for this the competition is closing 5 days before. Should the winner not respond to email before the 21st December delivery will be arranged in the first week of January. Please enter all options correctly, any incorrect entries will be void. Cakes will be dispatched directly from Caketoppers and winners details passed over. If no contact is made from the winner within 28 days a new winner will be drawn.
