We Love The My Little Pony Explore Equestria Crystal Empire Castle

The My Little Pony Explore Equestria Crystal Empire Castle.

Olivia loves playsets. Dolls, figures, playsets anything that allows her to create worlds and expand her imagination. A few years ago I bought a unit from Ikea especially to house her ever growing collection of dolls and accessories. Now, well now we have one more set to add to the collection.

The My Little Pony Explore Equestria Crystal Empire Castle is home to Princess Cadence and baby Flurry Heart. Cute right! It managed to stay in the box for 2 whole days before I let Olivia open it. She genuinely couldn’t get it open quick enough, kids hey!

  • Light-up castle reflects cutie marks when heart-shaped button is pressed
  • Playset features 2 staircases, a baby swing, and 2 closets that have spinning shelves
  • 16 accessories include a throne, crystal vanity, cradle, dress, and jewelry
  • Includes Princess Cadance and Baby Flurry Heart figures
  • 3″ figures

Coming unassembled with instructions to to help you build the castle it looks quite simple. That is, if you are a 10 year old! Being the eager beaver she is, Olivia took charge of building the castle swatting me away every time I came close. Now I’m not going to lie, I may have had a teensy bit of trouble figuring out the instructions. So parents, if you are anything like me, steer clear, leave the tricky stuff to the kids! I was however allowed to put the stickers on! It was a very important task and I am pleased to say I didn’t let her down.

It literally took Olivia about 10 minutes to get it all set up and running. She had all her My Little Pony figures ready, set up and waiting to see the castle and greet Princess Cadence and baby Flurry Heart to the family. I have to admit it looked pretty darn great when it was all set up. But the best bit, well that was the lights. It took it from pretty to fabulous as quick as it took me to pop in 3 batteries (AAA).

Cute right!

Verdict.

The end result is a pretty blue castle set with purple flecks that will provide hours of entertainment for your My Little Pony Fan. With plenty of accessories to get started it is great as a stand alone toy or as a an addition to other sets. The only issue I have is that the stairs. To me they don’t feel like they will hold a lot of pressure on top. We built the castle on a glass top table and it will be stored on a high gloss unit. This means it won’t have the friction to keep it as stable as it should be. With Olivia being older this really isn’t a problem but worth bearing in mind if you have it on a similar set up for younger kids.

Other than that, no problems at all. It is a great size and actually bigger than I thought it would be too. As it is designed like a bridge it increases the play area and lets you bring different sets and accessories in too. Olivia seems pretty pleased with it and I am sure she will be creating adventures within the castle for months ahead. Plus baby Flurry Heart is as cute as!

Would I Buy It?

Oh, absolutely. Currently available for £33.74 in Toys R Us or in Argos for £42.99 at the time of posting, this playset is at a price I would be happy to pay for a present for Olivia’s birthday or Christmas. Recommended for ages 3-8 but suitable for any children who are love sets like this.

That’s seriously pretty; the translucent effect is gorgeous! It’s a very decent size, too. Thanks for the review!

My five year old daughter loves mlp so when I saw this I got it. She has had other castles and playsets but after a few months parts always end up broken or missing so they get thrown away after awhile. She really enjoys this playset.

My girls have circled this in the toy catalogue for their Christmas lists and I did think it looked a little cheap and pointless to be honest! BUT this has changed my mind to the point where I will probably buy it for them, unless they change their minds between now and then! They love my little pony and I did too, it’s actually a lot better than I thought! #KCACOLS
