Safer Driving with the Nextbase 312GW Dash Cam
When I started driving again in 2017, one of the things I really wanted was a dashcam. Having had an accident in the past, I knew making sure you have enough information to hand as possible is paramount. The last thing you want is for things to get confusing and drawn out, especially in a ‘you vs them’ situation. It is never nice for anyone.
So making sure I had a dashcam to record my journeys was essential to me. Not only would it help out in the event of an accident, but it would also give me peace of mind when driving too. When I received the Nextbase 312GW Dash Cam to try out, I couldn’t wait to get it installed ad set up in Jazzy.

Setting up the Nextbase 312GW Dash Cam In My Car.

Before putting the dashcam in your car, it is recommended to charge it first. I left it on charge for a good few hours before setting it up in the car. My main issue was, having it running when I needed to use my sat-nav too. Aside from the wires, would they both need to be plugged into the in-car charger to use simultaneously?
It turns out they would be, so we kept the dash cam plugged in whilst driving and used my sister’s phone for times we needed to use a sat-nav. It is pretty easy to set up too. Just position the holder where you would like it on your windscreen, then connect the dashcam to it and tighten it up to hold it in place. It is suggested to put it where it won’t distract you, so we placed it around the mirror area to keep it out of my way.

To view footage you have recorded on your phone, you need to download the app and connect them both when nearby. After a couple of goes, I managed to get them both to connect 9my phone was causing the dramas, not the dashcam!) so I could view any saved videos.
Using the Nextbase 312GW Dash Cam.
Overall, I have found the Nextbase 312GW Dash Cam pretty easy to use and haven’t had any issues so far. I haven’t needed to view any footage recorded for any incidents, which is great. But when using the app to do this, I found it easy to view videos we had taken, and the quality is much better than I thought it would be.

I love that you can connect it to an app on your phone to have instant access to the footage. Affected by uninsured driver? A dashcam can provide you with evidence so you can pursue other avenues in the event of an accident. You can also store your insurance details in the app too, so you have them to hand should you need them in the event of an accident. You can even report an incident via the app too. I haven’t used this yet, and I hope not to have to, but it is good to know it is there.
The footage is constantly recorded, which is good to know, and all you need to do is save the footage. The dashcam also has the option to take pictures too (which you can see above!). This is so handy if you don’t have anything else to hand to take your pictures if you need to.
This dashcam has really impressed me, and I can honestly say I won’t be driving without it in my car now!

Comments
I’ve been nagging my hubby to get a dash cam so that he can prove any accident culpability.
Really good quality, I think I will have to take a closer look at this one. I am not a new driver but at this point I think that a dash cam is just a good idea. The prices are reasonable and it is something that I will use everyday. It is good piece of mind.
After it took 6 months to get my excess back after a accident that wasn’t my fault, I’d love one of these dash cams.
What a great idea, really needed here in Greater London. So many inconsiderate drivers and risk-takers
Fantastic giveaway. Looks awesome
I’d really like to get a dash cam for peace of mind. My son’s car was totalled by a lorry that reversed into it when the car was parked outside our house. Luckily we saw it happen and went out to get the driver’s details, but if we had not been at home things might have turned out differently.
Sounds great I think lots of us need one of these there’s so many reckless drivers on the roads now and no police around . I don’t drive my hubby does and to be honest I wouldn’t want to learn now
Such a great model x
It’s a snazzy little beauty – gets my seal of approval
What a great dashcam! We’re in the market for a new dashcam at the moment after our last one fell off the windscreen and landed in a bucket of water that was in the footwell when I was cleaning the car #epicfail hahaha
