A few weeks back I decided to overhaul the blog a little. A few tweaks here and there and nothing like the big fanfare I rolled out when I did my last, major, overhaul of the site. The thing is I get bored easily and for me, a new look gives me a boost to want to keep plugging away at this blogging malarkey. I usually do it all myself with the help of a really good blogging friend as designing a professional custom logo and blog design can be costly, especially with the frequency I change my mind!
My Blog Look.
You may have noticed a black edging around the blog and that I have gone back to white on white having ditched the pale pink marble effect. The change in direction for me on the blog meant a new tagline, as I become less family focused and more geared up towards my writing. I am no longer a family lifestyle blog. My focus is now my writing and in time this will form a huge part of the blog I hope. Whether it be writing new stories/poetry to feature here or following my journey as I attempt, albeit slowly to write my book/a book/anything. This also meant a new logo.
Usually, I design my logos myself. Using various free, and paid for sites, I plug away until I get it right. The problem is it takes me a long time to get it right. I am not creative at all and I struggle with certain aspects of design online. I umm and ahh and worry that others will be able to see my complete ineptitude and lack of design skills. I’m not one for fancy patterns, pictures or designs. I’m a simple girl at heart and straight to the point. No frills, no bells and whistles, what you see is what you get. This is also how I like my blog design. To feel like me. Simple, effective, straight to the point.
This method also hopefully masks my lack of creative skills too! So when I came across Logojoy and their AI (artificial intelligence) logo design site I was curious. Could a program find me my perfect and professional custom logo just by clicking a few times on a mouse or screen depending on how you use it of course? It couldn’t be any worse than I had attempted myself that’s for sure!
Creating a Professional Custom Logo with Logojoy.
So I created an account and set to work. By choosing your favourite designs from preloaded content, you need a minimum of 5, and adding in icons and colour preferences, you are on your way. You need fill in your company name for me it is, of course, One Frazzled Mum and then add your slogan, for which I chose writing my way through life one day at a time. Then your designs are ready to browse almost instantly. It really was that easy. Then all you have to do is look for the design that appeals the most and pop it into your favourites. Nothing takes your fancy? Well then go back to the beginning, choose different designs and start again.
By putting your chosen designs in your favourites section you are able to edit the design to truly make it your own by changing colours, fonts and placing or words and/or icons. This is where I found it tricky. There isn’t an undo button so I had to keep messing with my design to get it back to how I wanted it. Eventually changing it, then changing again until I got it right.
The preview screens enable you to see your chosen design on an array of products and this is really what helped me decide to purchase in the one below . My logo in lights where people can see it? Yes, please! Sold!
I really couldn’t believe how easy it was. For me, because of my messing about it took around 45 minutes. This is around average for most people though. For others who are more decisive and skilled in this area, it would possibly take less time. For a good quality professional custom logo, Logojoy really hits the nail on the head for me. It took all the guesswork and faffing out and presented me with ideas and designs I wouldn’t have thought of myself. The hardest part really was choosing from the many designs they presented me with.
Logojoy has 3 packages available at $20, $65 and $165 depending on your needs and budgets. You can also have all your social media channels catered for too so you are ready to go. No more resizing your image and hoping it fits, I’m looking at you here YouTube!
Keep an eye out for my chosen design to be featured on the blog very soon! I can’t wait to use it and love the design. Although it’s not a huge difference for me, I love the style and hopefully, you will too!
