Why Are You Here?

Why are you here? Right here right now,

                                                            sitting there opposite me.

I know why I am here but why are you?
You have your suitcase with you, is it work or pleasure?
Are you alone today?  Are you here with colleagues or friends?
Do you want to be here or is it a means to an end, earning a wage, making a life for yourself.
Is it a lonely life you lead or do you meet others along the way?
Is it a life you enjoy or one you wish ended today? Life on the road from one town to the next travelling here there and everywhere.
Do you, can you, are you attached to anyone thing, person or place or is a life of solitude with no ties exactly what your heart needs and loves. To be where ever with whom ever you choose from day to day.
Is there a place called home, somewhere to lay your hat and leave your shoes at the door. A warm friendly face to greet you after a weary week away and a family to love and enjoy before you leave again.
Or are you running away. Leaving something behind you don’t want any more. Creating a new life a new you being who you want to be, who you need to be. And why?
Why are you here? Right here right now,
                 sitting there opposite me.

I love that you haven't explained this, just left the reader to make up their own mind about what it is you are writing about. Great piece of writing. Thank you for linking to Prose for Thought 🙂

Great questions. Sometimes it's nice to step outside your own mind and be inquisitive about another. Love the way this is written like a thought process x

It came to as I was eating breakfast at a hotel while I was on a course for work and I just thought why are these people here? There was so many contractors and individuals and I just wondered what they were doing at the same place as me

Sometimes as I am driving somewhere look at the cars going the other way and wonder what their journeys are – are they doing the same as me just in the opposite direction or are they doing something totally different? I shall never know but I do wonder.

We are so busy with our own lives we forget about other people

Really great post! It is thought provoking indeed. I mean how often do we stop to wonder what is going on in other peoples lives?x #ReadWithMe

These are certainly words to get you thinking, I don't think we take enough time to stop and find out about others, we seem to judge people by their covers far to often!! thanks for linking up with #ReadWithMe have tweeted this post x

Im right here now reading a great blog because I value your views and reviews. Im happy with my life and the way it's going albeit things could be better, of course. What's important to remember is people are worse off than me and I have been in worse positions than now — gotta cling to that xx
