I don’t know if you have noticed from a recent spate of posts on the subject of home improvement, but I want to redecorate my whole house. Literally all of it. I have a scheme in mind for my living room. Taking it from a dark black and gold space to a nice bright and open silver and grey delight!
Currently still in the idea (I have no spare cash) phase I am thinking of building myself a Pinterest board of ideas of silvers and greys after posting on Instagram that I found my perfect wallpaper. Bear in mind this was in July so I need to get a move on and order it before it disappears!
Cute right! So with this theme in mind I thought my sofa could do with sprucing up from it’s darkness of all blacks and dark greys and have some light colours introduced. So when SofaSofa got in touch and asked if I would like to try out some of their scatter cushions it was like a sign. A sign to move my lazy self and get redecorating. I couldn’t let these cushions go to waste now could I!
Not only do SofaSofa produce sofas but a whole range of other products to compliment your purchase. SofaSofa have over 50 different scatter cushion pattern designs in 100’s of colours, lets just say I was a little bit spoilt for choice. So many designs to choose from I was like a kid in sweet shop. The only thing I knew for sure was that I wanted them to be grey.
After much deliberation I opted for the:
Woburn Large Scatter Cushions in Brecon Damask Grey.
So as you can see they are currently on my black sofa and looking slightly out of place! I’m hoping this will change once I have redecorated and added in some more lighter cushions too. At approx 18″ they are slightly smaller than the scatter cushions that came with my corner suite but much bigger than the smaller ones which is what I wanted. I prefer bigger cushions and would love these in the size of my current ones!
I love the design. The pattern really stands out well, I’m not sure I’ve captured this as well as it looks in real life but I love the textured feel of it and the material is nice and soft. Exactly what you want in a cushion. Especially when you have day long box set binges like I do!
As I mentioned earlier the cushions are approximately 18″ but boy are they filled. I was expecting them be flat like my current ones are but no. I was wrong and not disappointed either. Generously filled giving them a full plumped appearance they feel really luxurious and perfect for snuggling into. When they first arrived I felt they were lacking a bit of filling in the corners but they seem to have evened out now without losing any of the plumpness of the filling.
With a zip along one side the filling is easily removable should the cover need cleaning. There is also no label on them which I like however after some investigation inside there were labels there. Although mine didn’t allude to any form of cleaning instructions (yes I removed the filling) this may be because they are a sample. If I had purchased them I would be disappointed at the lack of care information. A vital one for parents of children of any age in my book.
What did my little rummage for a care label discover? Unlike other cushions I have they are roomy inside. I had no problem easing the filling out or back in again. There was no pulling of the material and no loose fibres around the zip. With a nice clean easy zip too, It didn’t catch as I was opening and closing it.
Would I recommend them?
Yes. If you are going for something special, for me these scream quality. They look good and feel good too. Obviously I haven’t used them for too long so I can’t comment on how long they will retain this appearance for but I’m hoping they will for quite some time. Currently reduced from £39 each to £25 these cushions are perfect for what I need them for and I’m hoping will compliment my new decor once it is all finished.
