The Buccaneer Family Bar and Restaurant, Coral Island Blackpool
As you know, we recently paid a visit to Coral Island Blackpool. The biggest indoor entertainment centre in Blackpool, Coral Island is located close to the Blackpool Tower. It has a whole host of arcade games and fun to keep the whole family entertained for more than a few hours.
Coral Island is also home to not one but 5 places to eat with the family. For every full priced adult meal, you can get a kids meal for free for each present child in each of the restaurants. As part of our trip to Coral Island Blackpool, we were kindly gifted a complimentary meal for the five of us.
Our reservation was for the Buccaneer Family Bar and Restaurant. Located close to the entrance from the promenade, The Buccaneer is a pub style restaurant set to the side of the amusement centre. Still part of Coral Island, it a place to eat where you can feel like you aren’t in the centre of all the fun and games.

The Menu at The Buccaneer Family Bar and Restaurant.
Whilst there isn’t a lot of selection on the menu, the choices available are all great meals. They literally have your main pub classics covered for starters, mains and desserts. The kid’s menu is smaller portions and is aimed at children under 10. They are still plenty big enough for small kids.

What We Ordered.
We shared two starters between the five of us. Nacho’s (£4.99) and Chicken Wings (£4.75). The nachos came fully loaded and were really moreish. There were no complaints about the chicken wings either.

For mains I chose the Spit Roast Chicken (£10.95), my sister went with Homemade Beef Lasagna (£8.95), it was the Chicken Tikka Masala (£7.95) for Olivia, E opted for Hunters Chicken (£9.25) and K had the kids Macaroni Cheese which came with chips.
Desserts were Chocolate Fudge Cake, Apple Pie and Strawberry Cheesecake.
Enjoying Our Meals at the Buccaneer Family Bar and Restaurant.

Whilst Olivia wasn’t overly keen on the taste of the curry part of her meal (I personally think it was the onions or that she thought she could see the onions) we all fully enjoyed all of our meals. The portions were really generous for the price .And honestly, the meals were of a quality I would expect, if not better when eating at a nationwide chain of family pubs.

My chicken was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Sure, I didn’t manage to eat all of it but it was so good I kept going even when I should have stopped. Everyone had a little try too and it was soo good. My sister loved the lasagna and my niece’s really enjoyed their meals too. I think had I not had starters I may have eaten more of my chicken as I was really disappointed I didn’t finish it all!

But moving on to the desserts. Oh my! The apple pie was divine! This is my new dessert when out lately and it was definitely worth squeezing in. I was pleased to see it wasn’t a huge slice but big enough to enjoy to complete our meal. K wasn’t overly fussed on the cheesecake, but my sister loved it and both the girls cleared the plates that once held their chocolate fudge cake.

Would We Eat Here Again?

As you know Blackpool can get really busy especially when the weather is good. We have visited many times now and this is one of the best places we have eaten at. Even if I wasn’t visiting Coral Island for the arcade, I would actually go in to eat at The Buccaneer it was that nice.
The whole restaurant was clean and tidy and had a great atmosphere. It felt like you were in an actual bar and not inside a busy arcade. It is the perfect place to get away from all the excitement without leaving the entertainment centre at all.
