Simply Be Plus Size Swimwear Review
We’re going on our holidays!!!!!!
Before I hit the big 3-0, we all rocked up to Manchester airport happy and excited for our first full family holiday abroad. There were 9 of us. Having generally only ever holidayed in the UK before, my only experience travelling abroad was 2 short trips to Disneyland Paris a few years earlier.
In June, there will be 17 of us taking to the skies again for our big family holiday to celebrate my mum’s 60th. I need decent plus size swimwear fast! That fits, looks good and makes me feel good! This is where a Simply Be Plus Size Swimwear Review comes in!
Beach body ready doesn’t mean you have to be super slim and toned at all. I have curves, and chances are I will still have curves when we touch down off the plane in sunnier climes. Does this mean I should hide my body away from where people can’t see me? Does it heck! With the right swimwear, I can look fab at the beach and flaunt my curves. Am I right?
Simply Be Plus Size Swimwear Review.
It’s about picking what’s right for your body, not trying to squeeze yourself into something you think you should be wearing. I’m a huge fan of Simply Be, and I own many pieces from the site—all fitting exactly how I need them to help me feel good in what I’m wearing.
And whilst I’m not afraid to pop on a swimming costume to hit the beach or lounge around the pool. I can be quite self-conscious of how my body looks. Being short means, there’s only so much space for my curves to squeeze into.
For this reason, I tend to go for more flattering one-piece costumes, and the Magisculpt Swimdress £40 is perfect for that! Opting for a plain black with a tie detail around the bust. I love the skirt over the top of the costume. For those who would like to be a little more covered, as I do, it seems like a win-win! With a proper cup up top to hold you in, too, I felt my 40E bust was suitably contained, and the extra padding helped me not to feel like I had gone out in my birthday suit like some can!

The mesh panel around the tummy area gave me extra control where I personally feel I need it, and the bottom skimming skirt backing up that feeling. It’s not something I have ever felt before from a costume, and it’s definitely got what I needed to give me an extra boost on the beach. Opting for black may be boring, but if you prefer a bit more colour, there is a whole range of gorgeous swimming costumes in the Simply Be plus size swimwear range to choose from in various flattering designs and styles.
I would consider ordering a size bigger if you have a bigger bust like I do, as although the bust fits fine on me, I personally would have liked a little bit more coverage up top. Mainly as for some inexplicable reason, when in the pool with kids, they always automatically love to grab at the top of your costume, don’t they! Flasher in the pool!
Need A Cover-Up?
Yeah, I know how you feel. Last time we went abroad. I lacked any beach cover-up. This was my first time. I was a novice at beach holidays, and to be honest, it didn’t work out well. This year I will be learning from my mistakes. Despite being short, I have a thing for maxi dresses, and one I can literally pull on and off over my swimwear is ideal for me.
Even more so, considering I’m not a sun-worshipper. Having a full-body cover-up will give me extra coverage when I feel like I can’t possibly sit in the sun anymore.

But it has to be nice and bright. I have plain and boring maxi dresses that literally do nothing for me. The Together Summer Splash Maxi Dress (£35) from the Simply Be plus size swimwear collection is exactly what I was looking for. There is none of that bulk at the bottom. Elasticated at the top for comfort and covered by a ruffle is really effective. I usually avoid things like this on the top as it accentuates my already sizeable bust.
But I don’t get that feeling with this. Slightly long for my shorter frame but nothing that can’t be fixed with a nice pair of wedges. I do have to say though the print looks better on than off. When it first arrived, I wasn’t so sure, but when I tried it on, it does look much nicer!

Comfy and perfect for the beach (or pool), I’m not sure I will be packing anything else as I can see this being a firm favourite! So that’s me all set for my holidays, what about you? Have you checked out the new Simply Be plus size swimwear for this year?

Nice print! Nice brand for beach wear.
I have tried some of the swimwear before but I didn’t really like how it looked on me :-/ I’m super self conscious of how I look! I’m on Slimming World now and hoping to shed a few stones before the summer so that I can feel good on our summer holiday!
Great style -highly recommend this brand
