When it is cold and dark outside, and you have nowhere to go except your sofa. The need for comfort and cosiness is somewhat exacerbated, and before you know it, you are snowed under with a variety of different blankets and cushions. Let’s not forget your candle (or in my case wax melt) game is on point and without even realising it, you have created the perfect space to snuggle up to crack on with binge-watching all the latest Netflix arrivals.

Well, that is unless you happened to have caught COVID-19 at work and suddenly you have lost two weeks to illness, and the only thing you have been able to do is to lie there doing nothing but sleep. And when you are ill, and all you can do is sleep, you need something that will bring your comfort and warmth.

That is exactly what my newest blanket gave to me. Arriving a couple of days before my positive covid test, my Elegear Premium Sherpa Fleece Reversible Throw Blanket was on hand to help me through my illness and stick by my side until the virus had left the building.

While I am glad to see the back of covid in my house and my body, the one thing from that period of awfulness I do want to keep is my Elegear Premium Fleece blanket.

The Elegear Sherpa Fleece blanket comes in a navy or grey colour and is 50 inches by 60 inches. Crafted from high-quality artificial fur and imitation fox hair, this blanket is super soft to the touch and really luxurious to look at and snuggle under.

One the one side, grey in my case, the surface is super smooth, and the pattern adds to the depth of colour and feeling of luxury the softness of this side of the blanket brings. On the reversible side, the artificial fur is soft and fluffy and adds to the warmth this blanket brings.

It is a lightweight blanket with antibacterial properties meaning it really was the perfect blanket for my recent illness.

Size-wise, the 50×60 inches size is long enough to cover from my chest to my feet, and I am 5 foot 2 inches and is wide enough to cover my body width wise. While it may not be big enough for someone taller, the Elegear Premium Sherpa Fleece Blanket is the perfect size for me.

What I thought of my Elegear Premium Sherpa Fleece Blanket.

I absolutely love it. If you are looking for a super soft blanket to the touch for you or even your child, this blanket is ideal. From the moment I took it out of the box, I couldn’t stop stroking it. Even lying there half-dead on the sofa, I would find myself stroking the pattern on the grey side for no reason other than it is so soft.

I was worried that washing the blanket would remove the blanket’s softness and newness and change the sensory experience for me. But it is just as soft as pre-washing after putting it through a 30º wash with fabric softener.

One good aspect was that despite my high temperature, the blanket didn’t become wet to touch. It remained soft and dry despite my temperature hitting 38°-40°.

The Elegear Premium Sherpa Fleece Blanket retails at £28.99 on Amazon and is available in size in two different colours- navy and grey. I chose grey to match my living room colour scheme, but I have no doubt the blanket will look just as good in navy too.

If you are looking for a blanket that will keep you warm but without overheating, this is the blanket for you. I found I was able to layer up this blanket easily and not be too hot yet be pretty comfortable just lying under the blanket itself without being too cold.
