There once was a boy and the boy loved the stars very much…….

every night he watched the stars from his window and wished he had one of his very own.
……
How To Catch A Star is the story of a boy who wishes he had a star of his very own and this year it is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary.
Such a beautiful story written and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers, it has become a timeless classic story for all young children. He has since gone on to win many awards including New York Times Best Illustrated Books Award.
Bedtime reading

This book came to us right as Olivia herself has become very interested in stars (not of her usual ‘pop’ or ‘celeb’ variety) so I was curious as to what she would think of it.

She is now at the age were she doesn’t like to be read to, but to do the reading so I let her take charge on this one and read to me. She decided that this would be the last book she would read as a 7 year old and so giving it an another honour.
She really enjoyed it. Finding it a nice easy read before bed and she really loved the theme too.

We had fun discussing how do you actually catch a star, can you catch a star?  All the possibilities from a child’s perspective are amazing this story really captures the imagination and lets them run with it

I can’t believe we haven’t read this book before but now we have it will be a firm favourite for bedtime I’m sure.

The 10th anniversary edition is available to buy at Amazon for £12.99 from 27th March 2014.
Also with our book we received a lovely letter from the author, some activity sheets, a poster and some glow in the dark stickers, this would make a lovely gift for someone.

The lovely people at Harper Collins have also given me a copy of How To Catch A Star to give away too. All you have to do is follow the instructions in the Rafflecopter widget below.
