I like to think I’m easily pleased. I’m not a high maintenance kinda girl. I don’t wear a lot of make up and I would quite happily sit in my pj’s all day in front of the tv without even brushing my hair. I don’t have high expectations of life. Seeing my favourite chocolate on offer makes me happy. Locking myself away in my house on Friday when Olivia is staying at her dads until Saturday makes me really happy (because I watch a lot of Disney channel writing this is replaying in my head the scene from the end of Disney Descendants where Mal tells everyone what makes her happy. She’s not evil like her mum! Sorry I digress) Blogging makes me happy. Having a secret stash of chocolate makes me even happier. Eating when Olivia isn’t home, perfection!
One thing though that does continually disappoint me however is my mail. Bill after bill after bill. There is the odd bank statement, opticians appointment and the usual junk mail. Some days I don’t get anything. And that’s OK, better even. But you know what would top that? My letterbox is seriously lacking in anything fun! Aside from the review items, which are fun but not regular mail and rarely fit through my letterbox anyway.
It needs chocolate. Seriously. Picture yourself heading to the doormat on a cold and miserable November morning. All those white and brown envelopes lying there taunting you with horrible adult boringness and when you get there you spot something out of the ordinary. What’s that I see lurking down there half hidden under this junk (because let’s face it 90% of mail these days is junk! Virgin Media and Capitol One I’m looking at you here)
A little white box? What on earth could be inside you wonder! As you turn the box over, you catch a glimpse of a little toad design on the front and your curiosity peaks. What could this be you think as your pre coffee mind tries to fight it’s way through the morning fuzz occupying your sleep deprived brain. Then you open. And gasp! You thank all the gods and anyone else you can think of because this people, this is the post of your (mine) dreams. It’s the thing you have been waiting for your whole entire life. A Chocolate greetings card through the post. The thing that was missing from your life has finally arrived!
Yeah yeah, I know I’m a little dramatic, it’s the chocoholic in me, I just can’t help it! You have to admit though, it is a pretty damn awesome idea isn’t it. To be able to send and receive a greeting made of chocolate to anyone anywhere. Forget Clinton’s this is my kind of birthday/Christmas/Well done for getting out of bed card.
Morse Toad Chocolate Greeting Card Review.
So now we have established how much I love this idea I suppose I best tell you what exactly I though of it hadn’t I. The site is super easy to use. With a whole range of different messages to choose from as well as a completely personalised one you are guaranteed to find a message suitable for any occasion.
You can even add your own picture and message to the card inside. We, myself and Olivia, wrote our own message but opted for a standard Morse Toad card in pink of course. We chose the phrase ‘You plus Me equals Awesome’ despite it coming from the romantic section Olivia felt that suited us both because, in her words, we are awesome. Maybe even more awesome than chocolate through the post but the jury is still out on that one.
The card is basically like a box of chocolates with your message inside. Each letter/character is on its own little piece. So say for example you wanted to propose using chocolate, you could arrange the chocolates in anyway you wanted as it’s not just a slab. Which means, in my case anyway, it’s easier to share, if you want to, you don’t have to. I didn’t like sharing but Olivia said I had to so I did.
Does it taste as good as it looks though? That’s the question isn’t it. Does this chocolate pass the taste test or is it best left for display purposes? Yeah, it may look good, and it really does, but after travelling to you inside it’s box sat in it’s little plastic case is it edible? The answer………….
Yes. I took a heart, then Olivia took a heart. Then another. Before we knew it we only had ‘some’ left. It tasted so ‘awesome’ we forgot to stop eating it. And they’re not just small pieces either. Despite the small size of each individual piece, they are quite deep so it’s not like popping a little square of Dairy Milk in your mouth it’s a decent piece of chocolate.
Would I Recommend it?
Hell yes! If you sent me this (our card is £15.50 free P&P) I would literally love you forever. A brilliant idea on the classic sending a greeting card thing and much more personal than sending an ecard or Facebook message. Definitely a card they will remember and if they like you enough they may even return the favour!
