Fighting Winter Bugs with BioCare Immune Intensive

This winter has been awful for bugs. I usually get little colds that last around a week but come to the end of October; I got the flu that really knocked me for 6. I’m not sure I got fully over it 6 weeks later when I caught yet another virus. It seemed to be a snowball effect that just kept on rolling and come the new year, I had managed to shake the worst of it off, but some symptoms were still lingering.

I needed something to help me kick the winter bugs for once and for all.

I knew I needed something else to give my immune system a boost, and when I received some BioCare Immune Intensive to try out, it couldn’t have come at a better time. If anything needed an intensive boost, it was my immune system!

BioCare Immune Intensive

Coming in powder form in individual sachets, Immune Intensive is a food supplement comprising of elderberry, sage and beta-glucans with vitamin C, vitamin D and zinc. Together they provide complete immune support.

  • Zinc supports the integrity of the respiratory tract and contributes to a normal function of the immune system.
  • Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system and the integrity of mucous membranes. It also protects cells from oxidative stress.
  • Vitamin A and vitamin D contribute to the normal function of the immune system.
  • Hypoallergenic and dairy-free
  • Single, convenient sachet dose with an excellent taste and easy to mix into liquids.

I have been taking my immune support help me fight off winter bugs with my morning coffee and breakfast. You need to take it food, so it was a perfect time before I forgot. Day 1 I tried it with water alone and wasn’t too keen on the taste or texture. It may have been me, but I found it took a while to be thoroughly mixed. Since then, I have been taking it in some sugar-free diluted squash, apple and blackcurrant, and it is much more palatable.

Benefits?

I have to admit, when trying things like this, I always struggle to pinpoint any benefits. The pack is a 7-day Immune Intensive. So I thought after a week, I would be able to notice some difference. But it wasn’t until I took a break at the end of the 7 days that I realised, I just hadn’t seen the benefits.

I’m not sure what you should expect so that I may be wrong, but I actually started to feel more like me! Not just viruses and winter bugs. I wouldn’t go as far as saying it gave me an energy boost, but it definitely gave me a little something extra day today.

*Update*

I had written this post after week one and before week two, as you can see. After a couple of days not taking the Immune Intensive, I developed some cold-like symptoms and started the second pack asap. Whilst it didn’t cure a cold – not that I expected it to – personally I feel it helped minimise the effects of any winter bugs I had picked up and it was pretty much over before it started.

At £16.45 for a 7-day pack, BioCare Immune Intensive indeed boasts some excellent benefits, and for someone like myself who has been fighting off bug after bug, it was something my body needed. After taking the second pack, I hope that I will be in a healthier place to help keep any future illnesses at bay or even reduce their impact on my system.

*Disclaimer: I was provided with 2 boxes of 7-day Immune Intensive for this review. all thoughts and opinions are my own*
