Blue Coffee Box Review & Competition
Coffee, it’s what makes the world go round! Well, my world. It runs through my veins and if you try to talk to me before I’ve had my morning cup, you are taking your life into your own hands. Dramatic? Yes, but let’s not pretend we don’t all know I have a flair for dramatics and a tendency to go a little (way) over the top.
So obviously, when I was approached to do a Blue Coffee Box review of one of their boxes, I wasn’t exactly about to say no, was I! Coffee through the letterbox on a schedule to keep me topped up? How fast exactly can you say yes?

My Blue Coffee Box Review
Did it take me long to get my coffee box open and drunk? Not really. At present, I have a coffee pod machine, 2 Cafetieres in single and multi-cup sizes and my trusted kettle. These days, I don’t really tend to drink instant coffee. That’s not to say I don’t like it but I bounce between my Cafetiere and my coffee machine.
The coffee bags I received were Columbian Inza Lot 1 (Campbell and Syme) and Honduran Cocafelol (The Gentlemen Baristas). I do like my coffee strong and usually with milk and flavoured syrups too so I was intrigued as to how I would find these particular roasts.
I decided I had to use my larger sized Cafetiere to give these a whirl and I experimented with strengths to find the right intensity for me to be able to enjoy the flavours. A first for me was finding out I actually preferred both blends without milk and as a straight black coffee. This is unheard of and honestly, I felt like the milk distracted from the flavours somewhat for me.

Slightly edging out in front in flavour for me was the Cocafelol bean. I really enjoyed the taste of this coffee and found it appealed more to my palette. For the first time ever, I think I actually enjoyed the coffee itself without all the bells and whistles I usually add to my drinks.
While my lack of tastebuds and sense of smell hindered my tasting efforts, I still found them a really enjoyable drink. Plus I love that you can set these boxes to arrive so you never have to miss your morning cup of coffee.
How much coffee do you get?
The coffee bags are 227g each in a full-sized bag and each bag comes with a roasted-on date and they are best enjoyed before 4 weeks from this date. But they do last for 4 months. So there is no rush on enjoying good coffee.
