My favourite thing about Christmas is the excitement of my children, and although the high octane hysteria is a bit much to take at times (!), I’m reminding myself that it the not too distant future Christmas won’t be this magical for them, so while they still believe, I’m relishing every precious moment xxx

The fact that the whole family gets together. Sister and bother-in-law live in the USA so it’s one of the rare times we get to see them.

It has to be Christmas morning after being awake most of the night with children waking up on the hour every hour, asking “has he been” and me saying go back to bed! Until finally I give up at about 5.30am and say come on lets go and look. Precious moments that pass to quickly and are to be cherished.

My favourite thing about Christmas is seeing the kiddies faces on Christmas morning – it’s magical! Watching their expressions as they see the presents and discover the sprinkling of snow left by Santa as well as his foot prints, he’s also a messy eater and both him and Rudolph leave a few crumbs and a bit of mess after eating their treats 😉

My favourite thing about Christmas is spending time with my family and all the little family traditions we have. Christmas eve everyone goes over to my nan’s house as its also her birthday that day. We all exchange gifts and play christmassy games. After that we come home and i usually have my In-laws over for buffet dinner and Christmas tele and games. My Daughter this year will get to open her Christmas Eve box with fresh PJs, a new book, Xmas DVD, Reindeer food (to sprinkle outside) & some snacks to eat whilst we watch the new Xmas DVD together as a family. She will then go to bed and on her Special Xmas plate place a carrot, mince pie and some milk for Santa. We will read her new book and lay her empty Xmas sack on the bottom of her bed. Christmas day we start the day by going through the sack together to see what Santa has brought. We get dressed come down stairs and me and my hubbie have a glass of Bucks Fizz for breakkie !! We exchange gifts from others first & then each other from under the tree. We then go over to my mums for Christmas Dinner & exchange more gifts. After my mums gorgeous but huge dinner we have some sort of pudding and my husband and step dad have a little tradition of having 3 small portions of different puddings. This comes from one year they couldn’t decide so my mum got all 3 and ever since then they choose 3 different ones EACH to have after dinner !! After eating all the food we normally collapse in front of the TV and watch the same Christmas specials, Royle Family, Vicar of Dibley, Only Fools & Horses, Wallis & Gromit etc etc. In the evening we head over to the In-laws for more gift exchanging and some games. Obviously ending the evening with a snowball (Advocaat & lemonade with a glaced cherry). Boxing day we usually head over to my mums again for her speciality boxing day lunch which includes cold meats, pickled onions, chips, bubble & squeak, pigs in blankets & TURKEY SANDWICHES !! All that is the reason i LOVE Christmas. But for the past 3 Years my ULTIMATE FAVOURITE thing about Christmas is seeing my little girls face when she opens a toy or gift that she likes. Seeing her excitement on her face is the BEST thing about Christmas.
