My Current Top 5 TV Shows

Last week I gave myself a pretty big pat on the back. I needed to save some cash and after noticing that after this month’s Sky bill, my subscription costs had jumped up by nearly £25. So I thought it was about time I had a little chat with those lovely people over at Sky. After all, I couldn’t compile my top 5 TV shows without Sky, or could I?

Despite being a customer for over 5 years, I still feel like Sky could do better, give us loyal customers a better deal instead of keeping them all for newbies. After a long chat, I managed to get my current package, including everything except sports, with a brand new HD+ box for multiroom viewing for £3 less than what I paid for November’s subscription! Bargain hey!

The thing is that now I need a TV for my bedroom.

I have been looking around, doing some online window shopping. I have been looking at some Panasonic, Viera Tv’s and have been debating the pros and cons of getting one with a DVD player in too! Decisions, decisions, I need to hurry through it’s being installed on Friday!

I hope this development for my future viewing habits will mean that I will actually get to watch something other than the Disney Channel, there is only so much Liv and Maddie any grown-up can handle! I have wildly different tastes to Olivia, and most of my viewing choices would scare the bejesus out of her! Not, however, our all-time favourite TV show, The Big Bang Theory, you can’t go wrong with a bit of Sheldon Cooper, bazinga!

I do have a small allowance of space in my Sky planner for some adult only viewing time, and this is what I am currently watching and will be getting watched on my new TV (when I actually get round to picking one!)

My Current Top 5 TV Shows are;

The Walking Dead. Monday 9 pm FOX

What can I say, I currently love season 6 of this show. I got into it quite late (after season 4 I think) and literally lived and breathed it for weeks to catch up in time for season 5 to start. If you don’t know already, where have you been???? It’s season 6 already!!!!!! The Walking Dead is about a group of people learning to live and survive in a world full of zombies that eat humans.

One bite and you are one of them, game over. Follow Rick on his journey to find, well I’m not sure anymore but if you haven’t already seen it, and don’t mind excessive amounts of gore, watch it now. Most definitely be of my favourite and a rightful winner of a space in my top 5 TV shows list.

Haven. Wednesday 9 pm SyFy

I love a good supernatural drama and Haven has it in abundance. Currently heading towards its last ever episode Haven is set in Maine and is a town full of ‘troubles’ People have these afflictions that cause them to do things beyond their control, e.g. a baby whose cries can kill people eek! or how about the man who attracts bullets even if wasn’t aimed at him and the one who has no feelings at all! One woman can help, and I can’t wait to find out how it all ends.

Nashville. E4 New series starting next year.

Set in Nashville, the clue is in the title, based around country music stars, new and established, and OMG! the drama! It is ridiculous, and yet so completely addictive! Diva’s, Eye Candy, (Deacon) Amazing music, it’s got it all, and I absolutely cannot wait for the next season.

Criminal Minds. Sky Living Monday at 9 pm.

The current season is 11. This is quite possibly one of the most disturbing shows I have ever watched/been created. Following a team of profilers from the FBI’s BAU (behavioural analysis unit) as they solve cases all over the country from some pretty sick and twisted individuals. As horrific as some of the crimes are, it is still an absolutely amazing show, and I’m still hooked. The is no way it can’t be in my top 5 TV shows.

Melissa and Joey. E4 10-11 am Monday to Friday.

Melissa, aka Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Joey, aka Joey from Blossom, is one of my favourite comedy sitcoms, think My Wife and Kids. I was a bit wary at first but warmed up to it and ended loving it. Even though it officially ended after it was last season, they are still showing it on E4, and I watch it pretty much every day. Mel is a local councilwoman who takes in her sister’s kids after she is jailed for swindling cash off investors with her husband. One of her husband’s former employees was Joe, who now is Mel’s nanny, helping her bring up her sister’s kids.

Shows I need to watch.

Breaking Bad. I know, I know, I haven’t yet.

Homeland. I’ve seen the odd episode, but it looks like my kind of programme, so I need to get round to it.

Once Upon a Time. Now with this one, I watched season 1 and 2 on Channel 5 and Season 3 on Netflix, but since I cancelled my Netflix account I haven’t seen the rest of it, but I really want to.

The Affair. Just started over on Sky Atlantic, it looks excellent, but so far I’ve just missed it, but I suppose that’s what my Sky+ is for right!

And well I’m not sure what else so let me know. What are you watching? What do you think of my picks, and what do you think I should be watching? What are your top 5 TV shows?

Oooooh, I’m a Netflix junkie! I absolutely love TV shows! Me and my husband love love love The Walking Dead!! And I’ve just found out that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be playing Negan in the next series-love him! I want to watch Nashville, it’s on our list of things to watch! And when you watch breaking bad, get some Red Bull in, because you will want to stay up all night and watch it! When you’ve finished it, the spin off, Better Call Saul, is awesome too! Suits is a great show, that’s my top recommendation at the moment!
