Dino Falls is a new dinosaur-themed 18 hole adventure golf course at Trafford Golf Centre. We are huge fans of crazy golf, adventure golf, anything we can get competitive about and get one over on the rest of the family. There may be (usually is) a little cheating involved too!
For those who also love a fun game of trying to get a hole in one and beat their kids (sorry but we all do don’t we), Dino Falls brings some prehistoric fun to the course for something a little different as you play.
Adventure Golf At Dino Falls
Situated at Trafford Golf Centre, Dino Falls is situated outside on an easy to follow 18 hole course featuring flowing water, selfiesaurus’s and caves galore. The course is for ages 5+ however we visited after watching The Christmas Parade over at the Trafford Cente and I had with me my 4-year-old niece and nephew and my youngest sister. We drove across from the Orient car park at the Trafford Centre and found our way over pretty easily. It is also within walking distance too. so say if you fancy a spot of shopping but others would rather have fun. Close enough to walk to should shopping not be their thing!
The kids were so excited to get started they had a little practice whilst we were waiting for our turn. Despite Dino Falls only opening on November 1st and it being a grey and overcast day, there were still plenty of people out to play. But not too many to be stood waiting around too long for your turn.
The course is well set out and despite being situated on a slightly sloping ground, it wasn’t too steep and didn’t affect gameplay at all. The kids loved spotting the dinosaurs on the way around, especially my nephew who loves them. I think this made it more fun for him. We thought they would struggle a little being so young but they didn’t. If anything it was us grown-ups in keeping up with them, eager though they were!
Building up from easy and gradually getting harder, we really enjoyed trying our hand at all the holes and we all were pretty surprised at how good we were. The only one we didn’t try out was where you had to get the ball under a net and over a little stream to the other side. My niece tried it, lost the ball in the water and on came the tears. We retrieved the ball (fyi: if you do lose a ball in the water, there is a lot around, or anywhere else, just head back to reception for new ones. No problem), and all skipped that part. There was definitely enough to keep even the most experienced adventure golfer entertained. The father and son ahead of us had already visited more than once too.
It’s safe to say we didn’t follow the rules, have you tried that with young kids? Yeah, not easy so we just went with the flow. If we saw we might take a while we let the people behind us go first so as not to hold up the queue too long. But with plenty of kids out for a game, we weren’t the only ones with kids determined to get their money’s worth on the way round.
Unfortunately, due to an accident involving the top of the golf club and my niece’s chin, we had to abandon the course at hole 17. No permanent damage but we didn’t get to try our hand at hole 18. I still maintain I absolutely 100% won regardless of what the rest of them say. Plus I was the only one to get a hole in one too! Not that it was a competition, just fun, honest!
If you are looking for a new adventure golf to try out, check out Dino Falls or better still combine it with a day out if you are visiting the Trafford Centre for a fun break from shopping for all the family.
