2020 has been the year of giving for us. It’s been one heck of a year, and for some reason, I seemed to have weathered it better than most. That’s not to say it’s been plain sailing the whole but, honestly, I personally feel that I experienced 2020 a lot differently than many other people.
Why?
Possibly due to the fact I am a complete introvert and being home alone and not allowed to go anywhere or see anyone soothes my soul. That fact there have been fewer people out and about makes me happy and let’s not forget, I finally got that new flooring for my hall stairs and landing, a complete garden makeover and full redecoration of 3 rooms in my house as well as the aforementioned hallways and stairs area.
Christmas in 2020
So now were are within touching distance of Christmas, we are in the full-on tinsel mode, and we have not one but 4 trees up in the house and garden. And we have gone completely over the top when it comes to gifting presents this year. Everyone is getting hamper bags or baskets, and they full to the brim. Family and friends alike have been spoilt this year.
We have also gone the extra mile to gift to as many charities as possible. We have a food bank donation, my sister and I have done the Dunelm gifting tree to gift a person a present who wouldn’t normally get one. And we are donating pyjamas to the pyjama party charity donation that provides a pair of brand new PJs to children who wouldn’t normally get new ones this year or at all. There are so many more families who have struggled this year due to job losses or huge impacts on their income; it feels only right that I pay it forward as I have been so fortunate.
On top of this, we also adopted a sloth during the first lockdown, to help save our local zoo, of which we are members. I supported as many small businesses as I could this year and for Christmas when they need it most.

To be completely honest, this blog is such a big part of our lives, and we have had some many great opportunities from it, we are both always happy to give back to those who have supported us over the years.
She has picked some items we have received from gift guide features recently along with some items chosen for this hamper from our shopping trips (Home Bargains has a lot to answer for this year!) and some little hot chocolate reindeer Olivia has made to go in.
This will be a quick competition so we can hopefully get it to you in time for Christmas.
