Poem #2

Poem #2 is one of the first poems I have ever written. It didn’t ever get a title. It was never named and I’m not sure I would want to now. I have recently edited it slightly but the main poem remains the same to see how far I have come in the five years since I have been writing poems and fiction on the blog.

Poem #2

Do you see what I can see?
Can you see it?
It is there,
as plain as day.

Etched in every pore.
In every fibre of my being,
screaming at you to just see.
Yes, I can see, see you’re looking at me now.

Losing yourself too,
just looking for me
But I’m right here,
Can’t you see?

I know you can’t.
You can’t see past the shutters,
no matter how hard you look
They won’t part.

No matter how much I need you to part them,
As I implore you to find the key
Can you hear me?
Hear me pleading with you?

How can you not see me?
I’m in here
Just me waiting for you to see, to know, to care
But no, you can’t.

It’s ok.
I’m fine.

Poem #2 is an original poem written by Tracey Bowden and featured on the blog One Frazzled Mum.
