My Blogging Bucket List
Bloggers blog for all kinds of different reasons. Some have something to say, opinions to share. Others want to share their humorous stories of real-life and all manner of random things. We have the beauty and the fashion bloggers and the parenting ones too. And ones like me, who like to write about stuff randomly, yeah stuff!
Some people aim to result from their blogging; others do it for fun, which has no expectations. When I started, I just wanted to write. I had no idea about what (still don’t really). But ever since I was a teenager way back in the ’90s when I loved to read endlessly, I really wanted to be the one writing the stories. To have my name on the cover and see my words being enjoyed by others.
So I started to blog.
After a while, I started to write. To write fiction. Testing the waters, would people read it? Would they like it and yes, on the whole, they did, funnily enough, or not? So I carried on blogging, and when I wasn’t blogging, I was pining to blog like I could feel something was missing. Does that make any sense? I feel like now; blogging has given me the platform to express myself through creative writing that maybe I wouldn’t have had elsewhere. Though I may be better at the fiction than the blog posts, God loves a trier hey!
So with this in mind, I thought I would come up with a Blogging Bucket List. A list of things I want to achieve through and with my blog. Things to do and learn. Especially as I am completely and utterly rubbish at the technical bits of blogging, you would be horrified seriously! So here it is,
Tracey’s Blogging Bucket List.
(in no particular order)
- To learn more about HTML, coding, and you know the basics that pretty much everyone knows and learnt at school whilst I hid away from the big old computers at school, scared of ‘modern’ technology!
- To learn more from other bloggers, tips, advice.
- To attend a blog camp. For years I have wanted to attend Britmums Live or Mumsnet Blogfest.
- To develop my writing style, maybe invest in a creative writing course.
- To become more active (and sociable) and develop my social media accounts.
- To be a full-time blogger, make an actual proper income from my blog.
- To grow as a person, parent, blogger, me (honestly blogging really helps me to do this)
- To learn photography, to have better quality images for my blog and for memories for Olivia too.
What do you think? Achievable? Yes, it will take time, time I will have to try to find from other places. But I feel it will be worth it. Do you blog and if so do you have a blogging bucket list too?

I like your bucket list and feel now a bit sad that I have never heard aout blog camps before. Blogging here in Eastern Europe is not so developed. But who knows, maybe one day I could help organize one 🙂

Great list. I like making things like this public, I find it makes me more accountable.
Seems like you’re already doing a great job with the blog though!

I think it’s a great idea to have a list of goals, keeps you focussed and accountable and of course you will achieve them. I started off very well with my list, I’m currently off at a tangent with a list that it is too big! Definitely with you on most of yours – blog camp, photography and getting a bit more technosavvy (gulp!). Good luck and enjoy. Nicky x #KCACOLS
I love reading blogs about ‘stuff’. Sometimes the more general they are the better as its great to see people use their writing skills in different ways. I didn’t have much of a clue when I started out and certainly had no idea about coding. It’s great what you pick up along the way. I’d definitely recommend going to a blogger event. I did my first one last month and it was great to meet the real life people who’s work you read every day. I can’t make Blogfest unfortunately but I can’t wait for Britmums Live. See you there? #KCACOLS
I think is list pretty much has points that every blogger would like to complete, whether it’s one or all of them. I agree with them all really, I’m a brand new week old blogger so I take a lot of comfort in knowing that whether your a long term blogger or short term blogger, things can happen if you try. I love your style of writing too. I too would love to attend a blog camp. There’s never anything wrong with learning and improving skills. Thanks for a great little post! #KCAKOLS
I think your blogging bucket list is wonderful and definitely achievable! Like you I too need to learn about html, coding etc. Wishing you the best of luck with completing your blogging bucket list. xx #KCACOLS
I need to write one of these and I think you will definitely be able to achieve all this! I want to learn how to do a bit of coding and how to take better pictures. Xx #KCACOLS
I think it’s definitely all achievable! I have an ‘Organise Your Blog’ series. You should check it out if you’re finding blogging a bit overwhelming sometimes.
I love reading and writing bucket lists. I wrote a blog bucket list about four months ago and have almost achieved everything on there. I think when you write things down you’re definitely ore likely to achieve them. 🙂 xxx #KCACOLS
I love that you have put together a blogging bucket list – it’s a great idea and I think one that will keep you focused! I never realised when I started blogging just over a year ago how time consuming it can be (in a good way!) I would also like to attend a blog camp so I have bought my ticket for Britmums next year! I never thought about investing in a creative writing course though… I might have to do some research!
HTML wise – you can probably get by with googling alot of things you need so I wouldn’t worry too much and I’m sure there are alot of us out there who would be able to help.
Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday! x
Good luck with your bucket list, I think blogging is definitely a learning curve. Photography is definitely on my list 🙂 #kcacols
How lovely, it’s so great having things to work for and aim towards. I probably have a blogging bucket list if i put my mind to it…there are definitely things I want to achieve with it. Yes a basic grasp of HTML would be one! #KCACOLS
I love the idea of having a blogging bucket list! I kind of came at blogging the other way – the first one I had was back when I was really into fanfiction (when Livejournal was the place to be!) and I’d post my original stuff too. The community there was really insular though so I guess my blogging aims would be to get a better hang of the social media and community side of ‘mainstream’ blogging. 🙂
Such a cool idea! good luck with achieving your goals, it’s a lot of work to learn all of those things. I am looking into improving my photography skills on my blog – they aren’t great – and someone suggested getting a light box for small products & things, or getting light and reflector for the bigger ones, so maybe that’s somewhere to start? Thanks for sharing #KCACOLS
A great bucket list and definitely achievable! I’m working on mine at the moment – learning code, going to a blogging camp and networking with as many other bloggers as possible are all on there at the moment! #KCACOLS
I love a good bucket list and you have some great aims! There are some great bloggers out there who give some really useful advice and tips. I also want to attend a blogging event next year and find that improving the running of my social media accounts is an ever-growing task! Glad that you’re enjoying blogging so much. It is addictive isn’t it?! #KCACOLS
Very achievable lovely. I want blogging to be my main income too! I hope to achieve this by this time next year – crossingfingers Good Luck lovely x
Great list. I have a few of the same things on my blogging bucket list too. Being full time would be a dream come true x
I totally agree with you on your first point. I would love to understand the absolute basics of HTML, I think it is an essential piece of information we will all need x
Best of luck with your list. I took a photography course this year to learn how to use my camera in manual mode and to learn about food styling and it was one of the best things I’ve done.
going to a blog camp is on my list. Also to buy a new decent camera and learn to take half decent photos
I love your bucket list, I love writing my blog, I would love to go to a blog fest one day and actually meet the people behind the blogs
Great bucket list, I wanna work on my photography too xxx
I love this list – so many great things on it – I would love to do a blog camp one day as well I have to admit. x
Good Luck with your list! I have been to Britmums and am going to Blogfest later this month. My blog is my job, and I absolutely love it. I work hard with it, but boy, we have had some amazing opportunities thanks to it 🙂 Kaz x
My blog started as a way to keep myself entertained while on maternity leave. I’m now back at work but I’m so loathe to give it up.
