Win a 6-Month Supply of Bifikalm

Colic is such a horrible thing for babies and parents alike. Even though you are doing everything right to help minimise it, you could still end up suffering. I remember Olivia suffering really badly with it. I felt like I carried her around for months as being held was the only thing that seemed to help her. Playing the ‘meal pass off game’ where her dad and I ate our dinners as quick as possible to hand her over so we both got to eat hot meals at relatively the same time!

It is hard but luckily over the years, people have come with ways of helping everyone get through the dreaded colic phase as easily as possible. From using different products to supplements to simply changing the way you feed.

Tips for dealing with colic in babies that worked for me.

  • Wind baby fully after each bottle in an upright position
  • Hold their body to yours – the motion of your breathing can help massage their stomachs to help relieve trapped wind.
  • If bottle-feeding, look at changing teat flow or try a specialist bottle that helps reduce the air taken in when feeding.
  • Try infant massage to help them pass any trapped wind naturally. Especially in the tummy area.

It is well worth checking out some mummy blogs too as they are a great source of information and you know that their tips are tried and tested.

Mother Geek found the 5S’s routine worked well for her and Suburban Mum has some great tips from her own experiences too.
