My Kitchen Wishlist

Kitchen wishlist ideas

I have been in my house for just over 4 years now and since moving in I haven’t really done any decorating or home improvements as such. I’m kinda lazy with regards to that kind of thing. It doesn’t however mean I don’t think about changing things up a bit, freshening my look. Therein lies the problem, I never get past thinking about it!

About 6 months after I moved in I got a brand spanking new fitted kitchen courtesy of the housing association. I went for black and white all through so I could add my own splash of colour and not worry about it if matches. Purple made the short cut and has since adorned kitchen to brighten the place up.

I am quite lucky I do have a fairly decent size kitchen/dining room, honestly though it’s wasted on me, can’t cook, won’t cook and I end up hoarding junk in various places. Like my 6 seater dining table that we never use and ends up mostly covered in clean washing I need to get round to putting away. Wasted space if you ask me. My kitchen looks out onto my back garden and in the summer months I love to just sit in the kitchen and look out of the window.

With this in mind I have been thinking of having a little overhaul and making it more cosy and homely and less of a dumping ground.

My Kitchen Wishlist.

Kitchen wishlist ideas

  1. Bar Stools from Littlewoods in purple £45 each. Currently I have an under counter fridge and freezer. I would love to have bar stools there instead and make it a little breakfast bar as oppose to the current dumping ground it is right now.
  2. Fridge Freezer. To do the above I would need to replace my current separate fridge and freezer with a combi one. I really like this swan one with the water dispenser again from Littlewoods.
  3. Butterfly Table and Chairs So the idea is that by getting rid of the massive 6 seater dining table I currently have, I can use the new found space to not hoard clean washing but use it instead for the fridge freezer and this foldaway dining table. There for when I need it and able to be stored away when I don’t because lets face it, I don’t see myself holding any dinner parties soon! Again from Littlewoods.
  4. Two Seater Sofa. This would be a comfy and welcome addition to my kitchen and I know my hairdresser would appreciate it when she comes round to do my hair! It has to be purple too and this one is currently in the sale too in Littlewoods, bargain!

What do you think? Would it work in this space below where my current dining table is, black and purple obviously! Please excuse the picture it was taken a while back on a Blackberry

Are you looking at sprucing up a room this year? Or are you wanting a complete overhaul of the whole house (I really need to do this!)

  1. Oh love these ideas!! The Fridge Freezer looks fantastic!! My parents always used to have this type of fridge freezer with the water dispenser. I love it. It is so practical. I also like ices so it is very useful to have the ice already there too. I like the idea of changing your big dining table for a smaller one. The seater also looks really nice. I think you have a fab wish list here. Good luck with this lovely!! Thanks so much for sharing this at #KCACOLS. I would love to see you again on Sunday! 🙂 x

  2. Looks like you will have a fab kitchen! I would love to have a sofa in ours but it is too small. I like the purple too. I am hoping to redecorate our living room this year but whether it happens or not, remains to be seen! Good luck with yours 🙂 #KCACOLS

  3. Nice choices! I’ve always wanted one of those fridge/freezers with the water dispenser – one day! At the moment we have a second hand fridge with a blown bulb and a leak… it really looks pathetic the night before food shopping day, lol. 😀 #KCACOLS

  4. I love your idea about swapping your undercounter fringe and freezer for a breakfast bar, I expect that would look really nice. And having a sofa in the kitchen would be brilliant, I would LOVE that! Becky x #kcacols

  5. Oh what a fab post. My kitchen is tiny and there is no space. When we move in a few months, I’m hoping to move into a larger kitchen and make it much better. I’d love to have enough space for a table/chairs and making the kitchen lovely! 🙂 Good luck to you too! Angela #KCACOLS
