Recently I was tagged by Megan over at Each Sparkling Step to take part in sharing my happiness non negotiables. Happiness non negotiables are the simple everyday things that make you happy. I think we could do with remembering the small things that make up smile from time to time instead of getting bogged down in the cr*p that doesn’t make us smile, am I right? After reading Megan’s I think mine are going to be pretty similar too.
My happiness non negotiables.
Olivia. Don’t tell her I picked her over coffee and chocolate (the girl doesn’t need another ego boost) but sometimes when I am feeling proper miserable (when the coffee and chocolate has run out) only a ‘livy hug’ as she calls them, will do. Despite the fact that 99% of time my perfect little angel is 100% diva. Also on the hush, hush, as much as I love having my ‘me’ time when she is in school and at her dads, I kinda miss her. Awww, I know mushy or what, but seriously the place is super quiet, and tidy, without her!
Coffee. I have this cup one of my old bosses gave me after witnessing me pre morning coffee, 6am. No one ever needs to witness that she said for everyone’s sake, I always had to have a coffee before work, always! I’m not so bad these days now I’m not working 50 hours a week but I still love a caramel latte from my Tassimo everyday. I love that Olivia will gladly make me one too, result!
Chocolate. My idea of heaven is to be able to eat as much of this brown milky goodness as I can without having to dread how hard I need to work out to burn it off. I may as well just slap each
family size bar I eat straight onto my belly! Some days I literally cannot get enough of it. It goes without saying that Easter is without a doubt my favourite holiday. Just this week I caught out eating Olivia’s bar of Bubbly. Busted, but did I feel bad? Absolutely not, my addiction prevents me from feeling any guilt at all, sorry kid!
Exercise. After getting back to working out this year I seriously feel awful, bloated, sluggish and really just bleurgh if I don’t do any type of exercise for a few days. If you have caught up on any of my workout posts you will see that I try to have a varied exercise regime. Well not regime because it’s as random as anything but I do like to try out different things.
Sunshine. Who doesn’t feel better waking up knowing the sun is shining? I seriously have major issues getting out of bed but find it marginally easier when the sun is up before me. Who wouldn’t want to wake up each day with the sun beaming through the curtains? Possibly parents of small children who have had them up all night, but you know what I mean though…….. people just seem happier when the sun is out or is that just me? Am I just happier when the sun is and everyone else is still their charming miserable selves? Either way thank god for good old vitamin D I say.
Reading/Writing. Have you checked out my fiction section on the blog? I love to write. I also love to read too and find I write more when I have read more. I am in the middle of attempting to write an actual full novel that people will read. I have literally no idea what I am doing but still I plough on regardless hoping to one day be plucked from obscurity thanks to a wrong click of the mouse and someone finding my little blog and falling in love with my stories 😮 Seriously though, I have received so much positivity and encouragement recently for my writing it actually makes me glad I started this blog and had the confidence to post my own work. It took me a long time to find my own voice after some disparaging comments back in the beginning but I am happy with my work thus far and will continue to work on it and hopefully grow.
So, there we go my happiness non negotiables? If you had to choose what would be yours? I would love to know.
I am tagging the following lovely ladies to take part should they wish.
