As a first-time dog owner, I am happy to admit I am verging on the slightly neurotic/helicopter mum side of things. Funny, as I was never that type of parent with Olivia, but with Tegan, she relies on us for so much, and I honestly do not know if I am doing anything right.

Over the past 6 months, or so, Google and I have become closely acquainted, and there have been many Googling sessions to help me overcome my lack of knowledge about where dogs are concerned. Well, Google, my dog IG account for Tegan and Southend Dog Training videos.

I’m still not wholly clued up (I am still not even a competent parent of a human child, never mind a dog), but we are getting there. But is Google really a valuable source of information regarding pets, and is googling if my dog has a normal dog poo a good indicator if we need to visit the vets yet again?

You see, Tegan is a senior dog with her fair share of issues. From her herniated disc in her spine to her massive anxiety and fear over everything to her odd food aversion ( I mean, she is a beagle, and a beagle who doesn’t like food has to be broken, right?) So it’s safe to say I spend a lot of time looking up issues to determine if a) it is normal, b) she isn’t dying on us and c) should I be worried?

90% of the time, it turns out that actually, yes, I am being dramatic, but it has helped me out significantly in discovering Nirmal dog poo and if she is struggling (which she was at one point, but my vets caught it).

For context, Tegan’s herniated disc presses on her stomach and causes digestive issues, and we have to monitor her poop carefully. No two poos are ever the same hence all the asking all the time!
