Is Slimpod Weight Loss Possible?
That’s the real question. Can you actually lose weight on Slimpod, or is it just another fad diet? It has been around 3 months since I started my Slimpod trial, and I had no idea if it would work for me or if any Slimpod weight loss was possible.
Before I go any further, I had to be clear, I have paid for this myself, and any views and thoughts are not in conjunction with or sponsored by Slimpod. I have covered my history with how I came to choose Slimpod to help me address my eating issues and my initial progress. It wasn’t so much about the weight loss; it was more about addressing what I was eating and how much.
My willpower and self-control were notoriously lacking when it came to my addiction to sugar. That was and could still be my undoing. I like fruit, I like veg, I didn’t eat nearly enough of it, and I frequently binged on chocolate. And I was a regular at ordering takeaways. Unfortunately, my orders were around 4 times a week and were rarely healthy.
I had gotten myself stuck in such a rut food wise, if I tried to abstain from chocolate, the cravings would win over, and I would end up eating more and more to make up for it.
If anyone told me there was “naughty food” or I shouldn’t be eating anything, I would eat more to spite them. The mere mention of Slimming World would, and still does, ignite a rage in me. I have also covered my complete disdain for this type of diet talk.
But back on topic, I was overweight, eating poorly, and I had vowed never to diet again. So why on earth was I looking at whether or not a Slimpod weight loss was possible?
The hook for me was that it wasn’t a diet as such. Specific types of VLCD and restricted food group diets would cause me to rebel and spiral until I ate so much I felt sick. The turning point in my thinking and desire to eat better was my (ongoing) recovery from COVID. I lost my sense of taste and appetite, but once I started getting over it, I was housebound, furlough, and still eating way more than I should have been. So it isn’t a shock to say I was piling on the weight.
Slimpod Weight Loss

So on a whim, I decided to try Slimpod. For context and a bit of history, I had dabbled in the past and found it effective, but then life took over, a new phone, and before you know it, the file I had with the audio on was gone. So this time, I signed up for the 10 days free trial to carry on for the full 12 weeks Slimpod Gold programme.
When you sign up, you sign up for the free trial with reminders 48 hours before your trial is up for you to cancel if you wish. The programme comes with four different “pods”. All 9 minute long audios files you listen to each day.
You get a;
- Slimpod
- Sugarpod
- Fitpod
- Chillpod

The aim is to listen once a day.
- Start by listening to the Slimpod only for the first four weeks.
- Chill pod can be listened to at any time.
- After the first weeks, add in the sugarpod.
- From week 9, you can then add in the fitpod.
Each pod is completely different, and the person you are listening to is trained in the art of cognitive hypnotherapy. The words used, the technique to speaking, and the subliminal messages contained in the pod are specially designed to help you retrain your brain to eating better and ditching junk food.
There is no cutting out foods, no restrictive dieting or calorie counting. It is a completely personal journey, and results will differ from person to person.
Is Slimpod Weight Loss Possible For Me?
Going into this, I was fully invested. As a result, my initial results were varied, and I switched it up from listening each night before sleep to listening twice a day. Initially, I would swing from eating well to eating whatever I wanted. To them cutting out junk food but still eating poorly for my meals.
My overall experience has been a bit up and down, and I suppose that was my brain trying to rebel against what the programme and the Slimpods were trying to change. But it is an experience worth doing, in my opinion.
I have gone from eating over 3,000 calories per day to managing mostly to stay under 2,000, typically under 1,800. My eating patterns have stabilised, and I can now avoid eating junk food; I would say I eat 90% less chocolate than before I started Slimpod, and I have reduced my takeaway orders to once a week and usually, I order different foods to include salad.
My meals have shrunk, and I am now satisfied eating a lot less than previously. I have stopped drinking 2-3 coffees per day and now have 1-2 a week. I have cut out Red Bull and Pepsi Max completely and tend to drink water or no added sugar juice.
Right now, my diet looks like this;
- Breakfast: A fruit smoothie using an Aldi smoothie mix, avocado and an energy supplement with coconut water, pure orange juice, almond milk or water.
- Lunch: Salad with chicken and a piece of fruit
- Dinner: Varies but always includes half of my plate being salad or vegetables and my portions are smaller.
- Snacks: Fibre one bars, fruit, salt and vinegar Pom Bears/Ringos in single packs, not full multipacks.

How Easy Is It To Change Your Diet on Slimpod?
Personally, I found that the changes came naturally. It wasn’t hard and at no point do I ever feel deprived. If I want something, I generally have it. But mostly, I don’t fancy eating so much anymore. My life doesn’t revolve around food or snacks. I don’t get that sugar crash mid-afternoon, nor do I get that maniacal craving to eat my body weight in junk.
If you approach it correctly and allow the programme to work as it should, it can be easier to take effect. But for me, it has been effortless. And I am absolutely thrilled with the changes I am making.
Weight loss has been minimal, around 8lb. However, I haven’t put any more weight on, and the 8lb has come off and stayed off no yoyo-ing up and down. It is worth mentioning I am mostly sedentary right now due to working from home, long covid and Fibromyalgia, plus a side effect of my medication is an increased appetite. I am about to introduce the fitpod to my day to help me increase my activity levels, but this is a work in progress. I know the key to losing weight and keeping it off is to move more and eat less. So this is my next step.
Is Slimpod Weight Loss Sustainable?
I will be continuing with listening to the pods past the 12 weeks. The benefits for me make sure I can eat better, eat less and cut my co-dependent relationship with food, specifically junk food.
Don’t get me wrong; there are still days when I eat poorly, eat too much, order takeaways. But I do not feel guilty about this, and I know that one instance of eating badly doesn’t mean I need to for the rest of the day or that I should punish myself.
There are many success stories on the Thinking Slimmer website, and like with anything, while this worked effortlessly for me, it may not be the case for other people. However, I am more than happy with my results, and I love not being a slave to the sugar cravings, something which was completely unheard of for me even 4/5 months ago.
The Thinking Slimmer Slimpod costs £99 for a 12 week Slimpod Gold Programme. There is a 10-day free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee if you cancel within 30 days. The £99 fee is taken in 3 instalments of £33 over 3 months. After the third payment has been made, the Slimpod Gold is yours for life. Payment will be taken after your 10-day trial is up.

This review is completely honest; I am sharing it as I found the programme beneficial to me.

Hi was there any difference after the 10 days trial?
Hi, I am really inconsistent in listening to it, but I do definitely notice a difference when I listen to it regularly. I find I eat less, and I think about food less.
Hi there, do you have an update? Have you continued to use it? I’m also stuck in a bit of a rut having spent most of 2021 on steroids. And although I want to change my overall thought process etc I also don’t want to have to take a small loan to pay for it.
At the time, I was experiencing poor health and weight gain from a medication I was on but didn’t know. I stopped listening to the slimpod after around 5 months when it became clear there was an issue. Since coming off the medication my health improved dramatically and I lost just short of 3 stones as a side effect of withdrawals.
I am currently back listening to the slimpod and so far after 2 weeks, it is helping me to control my appetite and I am eating better. My main issue is to not spend my days gorging chocolate and mostly I don’t. I also don’t eat as much as I used to. I hope I will continue to see benefits, But I wanted to give you a realistic update. If you want to try slimpod, I recommend using the 10 day trial and you can cancel before you get charged.
Happy for you to email me at tracey@onefrazzledmum if you wish.
Sounds good might give this a try!
