Lockdown Legends and Staying Connected with Swizzels
Are you a lockdown legend? How do you even be a lockdown legend? It is quite simple really. All you need to do is to stay home, follow the rules and help to make sure you and everyone around us safe and well from the coronavirus.
None of us could have even imagined that in 2020 we would all be living through something which will undoubtedly become part of the school curriculum for years to come and form part of what will be a future global reaction to emerging new viruses and threats to mankind. There is no playbook, no right and wrong way to feel and react to what is happening we are all learning as we go here and we can only do our best. That is all.
My situation right now is totally different than what I imagined it to be. For a start, I wasn’t planning on becoming the only person to be living at home. Olivia has taken up residence at her dad’s until things change a bit and I am rattling around the house on my own. I am also still at work and picking up bits for my sisters and mum who are trying to go out as little as possible. Honestly, my mum is on house arrest. Most of the kids aren’t leaving the house aside from walking to the local park for a walk around a few times a week. Olivia, as is my eldest niece, is working her way through Netflix and Disney+ and scrolling through TikTok 24/7 so honestly no change there!
OneFrazzledMumXSwizzels. A Collaboration Made in Heaven

As I mentioned I am doing drop-offs of shopping and essentials for my mum and sisters. I am also catching up with them and Olivia at 2 metres apart distances and no physical contact required. But I can see they are starting to get lockdown lethargy and struggling with the separation. It is only to be expected, isn’t it!
The lockdown measure hit right in the middle of birthday season and we didn’t manage to celebrate as we would have usually done. For example, last year we celebrated the last birthday at Haydock Racecourse! Things this year are so much more different.
With this in mind, I decided to treat everyone with an adaptation of my famous ‘Aunties Bags‘. The small gift bags full of treats I give out to my sisters from Olivia on Mother’s Day and at Christmas were getting a lockdown makeover. Gone are the bags, in came the hampers and a whole host of treats.

Sweets and chocolates feature really heavily in the gifts and this time was no exception thanks to Swizzels. I always feature Swizzels in the bag. Rainbow Drops are a staple and a firm favourite of mine closely followed by Squashies! Who doesn’t love Squashies?
Did you know Swizzels have a range of vegan and vegetarian sweets too? I had no idea. The Swizzels Shop is your go-to for all things Swizzels to help you satisfy your sweet tooth. Because you still need sweets to help you through a lockdown don’t you!
Being A Lockdown Legend & Staying Connected with Swizzels.

What exactly is in the gift hampers? Mostly it is full of activities for the kids, sweets, little pamper items such as foamy shower gel and face masks, more sweets, chocolates, some drinks and a smartphone projector for Olivia.
I wanted to show them that even though we can’t all be together we can still have fun as if we are. So one sunny Sunday afternoon I decided to drop off my gift parcels and spread some happiness during lockdown. Because staying connected is more important now than ever. Even for a self-confessed introvert like myself!

All the kids loved receiving the boxes and were thrilled with their surprise. Packed with crafts, toys, sweets and chocolates they all got stuck in and had a little rummage upon finding them on the doorstep straight away.
When it comes to spoiling people who are unable to leave the house, even the smallest things can make such a difference and simply showing them you care and are thinking about is more often than not more than enough.

There’s nothing like a bit of nostalgia to help get us through lockdown! #KCACOLS
Wow, can I put in an order for an Aunty Bag/Hamper?! They look great (and thoroughly appreciated by your family!). Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time
I think I’m a lockdown legend 😛 That lovely hamper is an awesome idea as a gift for our loved ones that we are not able to see right now #KCACOLS
This left me a little bit emotional, what a lovely thought. I have been sending my grandparents packages with hand soap and James Bond DVDs! My god I haven’t had rainbow drops in years and I now have a massive craving! I remember in my teen years I went through a stage of putting them with my cereal! Stay safe and hopefully we can all see our families for a hug soon. Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time x
