Happy Auntie’s Day 2020 – The 10 Year Anniversary

Wow, 10 years already! I actually can’t believe we have been doing these bags for 10 years now. How time flies when you are being fleeced by your child for traditions you made up for a one-time thing!

The ‘one-time thing’ is now something we do every Mother’s Day and now Christmas and for some birthdays too.

For the past few years, I have been sharing the contents of the bag on the blog. Some years, I have been lucky enough to collaborate with brands for my bags. Most years, I accumulate items in the sales at various points in the year. This year is one of those years. If you want to check out previous bags, click this link to find the search results for Aunties Bags.

Just to refresh your memory – and mine as I always go way off-brand – here is the list of rules I set to make sure this stays a relatively inexpensive gift.

  • Perfume size gift bag.
  • Small token gifts – usually the same for Olivia’s 3 aunties.
  • A single personal gift worth no more than £5 per gift
  • Fill with sweets

I can’t even remember the last time I stuck to this rule but I do try.

The Happy Auntie’s Day Bags for 22nd March 2020

So this year I started prepping early. I picked up some cute gift bags from Home Bargains (typical they got cuter ones in a couple of weeks later!) and made the most of the somewhat early Mother’s Day display. I got each auntie a small vase and a bunch of decorative roses.

I also rounded up some lovely items in the Boots 50% sale although I did miss the good stuff I still got some bargains such as these small Ted Baker perfumes, an Impulse set and a cute trio of bath fizzers.

Thrown in there are some Christmas confectionary items that were reduced post-Christmas and we decided to fill the jars with some sweets this year too. We topped this off by adding the flowers to the vase and a cute chocolate heart too.

This year I found some amazingly different chocolate bars from The Chocolate Smiths on Instagram. I ordered a set of the 3-pack of small bars and a large bar for one of my niece’s birthdays this month.

The bags will be topped off with marshmallows and Rainbow Drops as usual. If I find anything else for the bags I will add it in too. But for now, I feel they are complete and ready to go.

I would love to know if this is something you do for your family for special occasions?

I think this is such a lovely idea, I can’t believe you’ve been doing them for 10 years already! There are some really items here – I especially like the bath fizzers.

Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time
