Simon Air Review

simon IR REVIEW BACK OF BOX

We are still loving being part of the Hasbro Toy Tribe and this week we have another new toy review for you. Simon Air is the latest take on the classic Simon game of the 70’s/80’s. Reinvented for a new generation Simon can be found in many different forms you can get Simon, Simon2, Simon Stix, Simon Tricks, Bounce and Rewind.

These were followed by Flash, Swipe and now Simon Air. Despite being a child of the ’80’s I don’t remember ever having a Simon of my own and in recent years I have seen them becoming more and more popular. This is totally the type of toy that would keep myself and Olivia amused, and frustrated for hours on end.

So basically all you have to do is master the moves to beat the game. Simon Air can be played as a solo, two player or classic game. Just follow the colours and you’re good to go. We both have shockingly bad hand eye coordination so this is going to be fun! This is exactly the type of game that would go down well at our family get togethers as an alternative to our usual Monopoly or Bingo!

If truth be told Olivia pulled a face when this turned up. Then she got curious. Then she got hooked. You literally just pop you hand in the circle or around the edge next to the colours to follow the pattern. Easy right! Maybe not. With so many different settings to play, single player, multi player, this can keep the whole family entertained for hours.

After talking to my friend recently about it, after a demonstration from Olivia of course, she thinks it would be perfect for people who need some help keeping their memory alive (that includes me). By following a seemingly easy pattern of colours this game is great for anyone who wants to keep their mind active, improve their hand eye coordination or basically just beat the system!

I hoped it would be a great game and I wasn’t disappointed, don’t tell Olivia but I am so practising it when she isn’t around and one day…….one day I will beat her!

Check out this little video I filmed as she attempted to beat Simon at his own game instead of getting her back backpack like I asked. Apologies for the non professional standard, Zoella I am not!

Simon Air is a great game for people of all ages and we love it, it’s quickly become one of Olivia’s favourite toys. My only issue is no volume control. If there is I haven’t found it and it is a bit on the loud side for me now I’m getting on a bit 😉 Simon Air is available to buy from Argos  for £24.99 and also leading toy retailers too.

  1. I appreciate you. Your writing style reminds me of my bff. I found this on Facebook I bet you do crossword puzzles in ink. Oh my goodness! A amazing article.

  2. I was also a child of the 80’s i never had a original simon but you can buy the original simon on eBay all different prices up to £80 boxed etc i bought a simon air in tesco where i live last night i was also looking at the simon air in tesco near where i work on sunday night i didn’t know they had a new simon air out but they only had one left on the shelf that had some light wear marks & scratches then last night when i finished work & went into tesco near where i work & they had more of them on the shelf & i was looking at each simon air & they all seem to have light wear marks/scratches on them so i didn’t buy one & left the store & cycled home & went into tesco where i live to see if they had the simon air & they did i looked at each simon air for wear marks/scratches & got one from the very back of the shelf that was behind another game maybe I’m being a bit fussy with the light wear marks/scratches as it’s only plastic i know & is just a game & when i finished work on sunday night & went into tesco near where i work i thought i see them for £19.99 so last night when i went into tesco near where i work i said to a girl that was filling the shelfs i thought these were £19.99 so she scanned the barcode on the price label & it came up with the normal price £23.49 she said i can’t keep on top of it etc last night i looked on YouTube at the videos of the simon air & simon swipe which i remember them bringing out either last year or a couple of years ago but it was a couple of years ago that they bought out the simon swipe in one of the tutorial videos i watched on YouTube he said if you want to turn down the volume on the simon air just keep pressing the power button after the blue light comes on something like that i haven’t tried it myself yet.
