Maximising The Use of Your Loft Space

When we come to decorate the house and rearrange the space, we often think of the living room, kitchen and bedroom before anything else. The bathroom can be a rare job and the spare room likely never sees much more than a dusting, but what about the loft?

The loft is a room in the house that we rarely enter, and it is a room that often is forgotten about in the house, but it is a space that we can use.

Here are some great ways to use your loft this winter for something other than gathering dust.

A home office

The first easy way to transform your loft space is to ask a company like Empire Lofts to come on and convert it into a little office space for the family. If one of your family works from home or simply wants a place you can work, this is a great idea. It is separate from the rest of the house to help you concentrate, and it can be a great place to get some peace once in a while.

A bright open space

Why not simply turn your spare room into another room of the house? It doesn’t have to be a specific room just yet, but you can rearrange the storage area of the room and lay a new floor, plaster the ceiling and make it feel clean and tidy. A fun way to reverse things with the loft is to paint your floor bright, such as yellow or pink, and leave the walls white. You can have more fun in this room and try things you would never try in the rest of the house.

Your new master bedroom

If you are sick of your bedroom and you fancy having something a bit more private and spacious, a loft conversion into a bedroom is a genius idea to do. Live in Lofts allow you to redesign the unused space at the top of your home into something that is not only practical but liveable too.

You can change the bedroom and make it more open and romantic and even install a skylight above the bed so that you can look up at the stars at night together. You can also have an en-suite toilet to avoid trying and navigating stairs or ladders in the dark.

A cute art studio

For the artists amongst you, a loft can act as the ideal place to paint your pictures and leave them to dry without the risk of anyone knocking them over or rubbing against them in the rest of the house. This can be a private space for you to gain inspiration and let your artistic juices flow, and it can be a really wonderful space.

A kids snug

If you have a couple of kids in your home who need somewhere to watch their cartoons and sleepover with friends, you can turn the loft into a snug which they can use for sleepovers and quiet rainy days. Install a toilet, tv, ring in a lush carpet and make sure you have some comfy beanbags or chairs.
