March Reading List

march-reading-list

I seem to be going through fits and starts with my reading of late. I’m either binge reading or not reading at all there is no in between. Do you know what I mean? It’s becoming like Netflix but with books. I have also noticed more of a shift towards my Kindle and Ebooks in general too. I have the kindle app on my phone now and it is just easier right now to read this way as opposed to picking up an actual book. I think partly this is down to the fact that I am super lazy. When I read in bed I have to physically drag myself back up and out of bed to turn the light off! But time will tell and maybe I will get bored of my kindle and go back to real pages and paper, who knows?

This makes me sad as I am currently part way through a Freya North book I am yet to finish for no reason other than it is an actual book and not a screen. It isn’t a bad book, I am actually really enjoying it and hoping to get to the end of it pretty soon. It has become my ‘bath book’ maybe I need another hour and a half soak and get it finished in one go!

As well as ploughing through the fabulous book that was Beneath the Surface by Heidi Perks I also managed to finish another book I started a while ago and mentioned in a previous post Reckless Magic This was a free download off Amazon and is along the lines of Twilight. If you are a fan of this YA supernatural type of story then you will not be disappointed with this one. It is actually part of a series and upon a quick glance on Amazon there seems to be so many in the series. I have actually just started my Kindle Unlimited trial to be able to read them all. I was trying to purchase the box set of books 1-4 but it seems Amazon and my bank are currently not on speaking terms!

I ended up reading it all in one go and was awake until around 2am Saturday morning so you can pretty much guess what state I was in when I got to work. Me Tracey, need coffee……….  I have a penchant for YA fiction and the more supernatural the better. Possibly due to being in the middle of writing my own YA supernatural fiction book, Serenity. We follow Eden on her path to discovering she is not the teenager she thought she was and follow her journey into her whole new world of magic and Immortals and her forbidden romance with the Crown Prince Kiran. All pretty much your standard stuff there but still an enjoyable read even if I am old enough to know better! I may be a little to excited to start the next book I think, The Star-Crossed series here I come! It will however help me to catch up on my GoodReads target of 50 books in a year! Currently I am 5 behind!

Olivia is still plodding along with popping in and out of different My Little Pony books so there is nothing really new going on with her. One day she likes to read the next books are boring. This is pretty much the theme nowadays with her!

And that’s that! Not so much of a list really is it but at least I managed to finish more than one book this month so that’s progress! What are you reading this month? I would love to hear any suggestions based on my current reading choices.

*Update: So last night I actually read the second on the star crossed series. It’s safe to say I am hooked and will probably end up getting through them all this week!*

  1. More books to add onto my kindle!!! I’m just collecting them now. Got a habit of starting a book, pausing, going to another, pausing then going back to the one I started before.

  2. I’m torn between kindle and paperbacks although I have bought an abundance of actual books this year! I love a good supernatural book and I’m a huge fan of twilight so will definitely be checking Reckless Magic out! Thanks for sharing with #ReadWithMe

  3. Earlier in the year I read a book called The awakening by Stuart Meczes. Its an urban fantasy series called The Hasea Chronicles. The second and third instalments are The Veil Corruption and Without A Heartbeat. Its a fantastic YA series xx

  4. It sounds like you and I are complete opposites when it comes to reading! I’ve never read a book on Kindle or my phone and I don’t like supernatural books at all!
I recently read The Hunger Games and was surprised how much I enjoyed it, as I don’t usually read kids’/ YA books.

  5. I definitely need to up my reading! I’m currently reading Mad about the boy ready for the next Bridget Jones film. I’m trying to do a book a week but I’ve definitely fallen behind
