It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Chaos
Forget it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, it’s beginning to look a lot like chaos. No doubt your mind will be racing about the million and one things that you need to do to keep your home ticking. You’ll be thinking about the food you need to buy, how you need to prep your home if you have enough presents, and where everything is going to go at the end of it.
If you have a big family, and one that’s still expanding, it can feel like there’s not enough space in the world to hold the things that you’re going to need to hold. It’s a common stress that families all over the world are going to be feeling, but if you have a bigger family than most then we know your stress is going to be higher than most. But there’s no escaping the Christmas cheer, and it’s quite literally around the corner. So, we’re going to try and calm to chaos, and show you how you can make life a lot easier for yourself.
A Big Post Christmas Clear Out
So, you might be wondering why we want to talk about what’s going to happen after Christmas, rather than talking about Christmas first. Well, it’s the part that everyone seems to forget about. It’s so easy to get caught up in the rush of buying presents for everyone without taking into account what people might have got you as well, and where everything is going to go.
If you do have a growing family, the last thing you need is to be holding onto things that you don’t need just yet, but are clogging up the home. So, we think it might be worth looking at storage rentals, whether it be short term or long term, so you can call on the items when you need it. When you realise you have storage space to put things into, you’ll be surprised at the number of things that you want out of your home, and how much more space you’re going to have. We suggest doing it after Christmas, simply because there’s no point sorting it this side of the big day.
Handling The Big Day
Everyone is going to have their own version of what they think Christmas day is like. You’ll either have the elderly relatives around, or you’ll have cousins and aunts and uncles popping out of every single room. Either way, when kids are involved, Christmas day is just a little bit of stress. All they want to do is play with the new things you’ve got them, making them highly unruly.
To keep the chaos down, just let them play with their toys! Other than when they’re eating dinner, it’s going to be far easier for you to just let them do what they want all day, rather than forcing them to be part of the family event. It gives the adults a chance to relax and truly enjoy the day.
