Why You Should Visit Liverpool One This Christmas

I don’t know about you, but I love shopping at this time of year. Wandering in and out of shops, past weary shoppers laden down with bags bursting with Xmas goodies. The warm glow of shop windows and twinkling fairy lights and decorations beckoning you in as day turns to night around 4 pm. Grabbing a hot drink from a street vendor to warm your hands as you navigate the crowds, who too, as you are, are searching for the perfect gift this Christmas time.

One of my favourite places to do this is Liverpool. Or more specifically, Liverpool One. A mere 20-minute bus ride over the water (or 14 minutes via train if I park at the station), the cross-river bus stops outside my home both ways making it super easy to head over the water to get some shopping done. Very rarely does Liverpool One disappoint when it comes to an immersive and all-inclusive shopping experience.

It’s safe to say that over the past 11 years, Liverpool One has become the hub of the city whether you visit to shop, work, eat or play. It is where we head for a bite to eat before heading over to the M&S Bank Arena for a concert or even the Liverpool Empire for a show. We head over when shopping for a special occasion, birthdays, Christmas, Saturdays.

Why Should You Visit Liverpool One This Christmas?

What?! You need more convincing? You don’t just need to visit Liverpool to shop, although you will be spoilt for choice if you do.

We all know this time of year makes thing incredibly busy, so hop on a bus or the train to be taken right to Liverpool One via most bus routes (or in my case Whitechapel a mere 2-minute walk away) or jump off at James Street or Central Station for your closest stations. For those brave enough to face the traffic, you can park in Q-Parks car park – anyone else duck when they go into the car park? Just me?

There is so much to do when you visit Liverpool One, there simply isn’t enough hours in the day to do it all at once. But for those there simply for the shops, then you need to check out a few of my favourites. Hopefully, you can find some treats for all the family in my go-to shops!

I have to admit, I do stick to my favourite places here. But if you’re looking for a perfect location for a works night out, you can’t go wrong at Liverpool One. Indulge your tastebuds at places such as Yard and Coop (totally on my food bucket list – their Facebook page has my mouth watering), Lunya and Chaopraya. For a more casual dining experience, Pizza Hut is still one of my favourites and ideally located opposite the Odeon cinema. Or head to Five Guys.

For a more adult-orientated visit then head to JunkYard Golf Club or head to Roxy Ball Room up by Hanover Street. For a fun day out with the kids this winter, then take a ride on the Polar Express (booking recommended) or catch the latest release at the IMAX Odeon Cinema.

If doing the tourist options is appealing to you, you won’t be disappointed with what you can find a short walk from Liverpool One and immediate vicinity.

Come to think of it, I haven’t visited for a little while. I think I may have talked myself into a visit this December! Are you planning to visit Liverpool One this Christmas?
