Do you have a favourite flower? One that reminds you of something or someone? Maybe you just love it so much you can’t resist picking some up when you see them?
I am like this with tulips. When Olivia was a baby I bought myself a bunch of tulips as I was sick of dropping hints to her dad to buy me some. Then one day he came from work with some gorgeous tulips and roses. I was really happy and took them off him to put in a vase. It was then I saw the reduced stickers 10p! He got some serious side eye for a while but still, it was the thought that counts, plus absolute bargain or what there! No wonder I got so many.
Our Favourite Flower.
Since then, Olivia and I have gotten into the habit of treating ourselves to bunches of flowers, both of us still have a tendency to go for the roses but mostly any that look bright and pretty is a hit with both of us.
Flowers and Birth Months.
Did you know that each month of the year has a corresponding flower? One that symbolises that month and the person born during that month. Just like birthstones. So for example, I am a July baby and my birthstone is a Ruby, which I knew. What I didn’t know though was my birth flower is a Larkspur. A Larkspur comes in a variety of colours of with spikes of red, white, violet and pink. Pink and purple for flowers are my favourite colours along with any pastel shades too. Those born in July are determined individuals with sensitive souls.
Olivia’s flower is the Daffodil for March. Her birthstone is an Aquamarine. March babies are charismatic people who can easily relate to others with thanks to their sensitive nature.
Giving Flowers for Gifts.
Knowing which flowers go with which birth months is a great way to buy an extra special present. If you are giving the gift of flowers either by hand delivery or via an online florist such as Flying Flowers choosing their birth flower alongside their favourite flower is a lovely extra touch.
This is also true for gifting flowers for the birth of a baby. Mixing the parents and new babies flowers would create a more personalised touch.
Flowers and Horoscopes.
Going one step further you could also match your bouquet choices to the recipient’s horoscope. For an Aries such as Olivia and a Cancerian like myself, mixed bunches of summer flowers and roses are the ones to opt for. This would absolutely explain our attraction to not only bright flowers but roses too.
There are many different floral arrangements and bouquets around either to gift to yourself or to someone special. But narrowing down your selection to make it a little bit more personalised shows you have put some extra thought into choosing that right bouquet for the recipient. What is your favourite flower?
