It’s no secret that these past 12 months have seen me attempt to completely overhaul the look of my house. Having lived with the same decor in all of my rooms for the past 5 years, it was most definitely time for a change. However, living on a limited budget means that the bulk of the changes are happening slowly. Incorporating different interior design styles wasn’t going to happen overnight.
First off I needed to refresh my walls and change the colour schemes. I started last November in my living room and managed to repaint and wallpaper in 24 hours! Finding the right accessories has taken longer and it is still a work in progress for us. Olivia’s bedroom came next and despite not having it exactly how we planned it due to the size of the furniture and space issues, we are pretty much there. It just needs some tweaks.
The hallway is a disaster and 4 months after starting painting I am still no closer to deciding what I want to do with it after discovering my chosen shade was slightly too dark. The same can be said for me bedroom which again is a work in progress. I am hoping to have both decorated before Christmas so next year I can save for new carpets/laminate flooring. I am hopeful I will get there with the decorating side of things with only the accessories to introduce again as and when I can.
But on the whole, it has been a work in progress as I choose how exactly I want my look and the style of the decor in my home. There are so many looks around right now and it can be difficult to select what works best for you and your home. I do have a plan in mind and slowly but surely I am working my way there.
