December So Far Update

I know we are only 10 days in but I wanted to do a quick December so far update following on from my previous post. Of late I have been throwing up ‘to-do’ lists, bucket lists, things to improve on the blog and in my life but I am really rubbish at updating on my progress thus far. You can read my December To-Do post here and this is a quick refresh on what I needed to achieve and the dates to do it by,

  • 4th December – christmas outfit shopping for Olivia
  • 6th December – the big christmas clean
  • 15th December – all presents bought to be wrapped and taken to my mums where we are waking up on christmas morning.
  • 24th December – hopefully track down that elusive present for my sister, any ideas welcome.
  • 29th December – This is the date I plan to be starting my new employment from hopefully, so keep your fingers crossed!

I managed to get over to Liverpool to see the Coca Cola truck although I was pretty disappointed if truth be told. Great for the kids but I felt it was all a bit too meh for want of a better word!

We couldn’t really get close enough for decent pictures so we headed off to Burger King for some dinner! But…….. we did manage to get some outfits for Olivia, I didn’t get what I’d imagined we would but she ended up with some boots, her Xmas eve pj’s, some leggings and a couple of jumpers too. This was based on her challenge to budget with Osper. A trilby and a handbag also found their way into our shopping basket too! Olivia had a ball trying on some outfits in Primark none of what she tried on made it except for a gorgeous fluffy Mickey Mouse jumper.

She didn’t like the dress and I didn’t like the top and skirt on her! Shame really. My sister has actually gotten her an outfit which she can wear on Christmas day so problem solved for that one.

I absolutely have been putting off the big pre Christmas clean, Oh god I just can bear it though, I hate cleaning. I plan to have it all done by the weekend though as…………………well this week saw a change in my employment and on the 15th December I start a new job. Exactly 2 weeks earlier than my deadline date, I did want to take a few days off over Christmas but I just couldn’t carry on and managed to find new part time employment starting sooner. So I am having my few days off now to sort myself out and get ready for the next chapter of my life! I won’t know what to do with myself working over 3 days less than I previously did in 2! But it means so much for me and Olivia to finally get our lives back and for her to be able to be at home much more now.

This means that I get more time to wrap my presents and hopefully I will get them done by 15th fingers crossed hey! That just leaves my sister’s present, still not an absolute clue on this one at all despite reading plenty of gift guides I am still stumped.

So there we go my update all plans seem to be falling into place nicely so far. How are your plans going for December? Organised or ready for a last minute panic round the shops on Christmas eve?

Spread the love

  1. Organized but not ready, I never am though with the holiday, I kind of want it to be over already because it seems like there is so much going on…I keep making time to pray and meditate which does help when everything seems to pile on…With 4kids it really goes on forever, but seeing their joy makes it worth it, lol

  2. I know what you mean about being disappointed by the coca-cola truck. We went to see it in London and it was nothing special. We literally snapped a selfie and left. Such a shame. I also know what you mean about the pre-Christmas Clean. I’ve been putting it off too. Next week it really must happen 🙂 Best of luck x
