April’s Blogging To-Do List

I don’t normally do these posts as I find that would require an update. An update which I would inevitably forget to post having probably forgotten to do any of it but I really need to get cracking on some blog admin or blogmin as I’ve seen it referred to. Thus giving me April’s blogging to-do list. Maybe this will hold me accountable. Maybe not but even getting it written down will give me a better idea of what needs to be done won’t it. Could it even stop me putting it off and off and off for a little bit more? Who knows, stranger things have happened! Also with a recent jump in my Moz DA score to 23, some MAD awards nominations, yay and thank you, and a steady rise in various blogging charts, it may be time to knuckle down and this lil ‘ole blog of mine sorted right!

April’s Blogging To-Do List.

Pictures. For some reason, possibly a simple one, a lot of my pictures are showing up as broken. I have managed to rectify a few however, there are so many coming up as broken links I really need to get going on sorting this out. Tips/advice/offers to do it for me greatly appreciated in this area. It will be a long, time consuming job, see my reason for putting it off is having to find them, delete them, and re upload them into the post. That’s assuming I still have them, eek!

SEO. Up until I went self hosted I had no idea of alt tags for pictures, seo, keywords, meta tags or anything. So it goes without saying the bulk of my older posts need looking at to change this. When posts pop up having been reshared via my old post sharing plug in, I tend to pop back in and add seo, keywords etc but sometimes I am just too busy. There are currently 150+ that I need to go back and look at! Yay!

Readability. Some of my posts didn’t transfer over very well from my old blogger home and have different fonts, alignments and so on and basically look awful, probably read awful too. Again I have gone through a lot but I have so many from the past 2 years there are still so many to go through!

Media Kit. I really need to get a media kit sorted ready for future collaborations as I am asked this information a lot. This would make it so much easier than going through everything every time I am asked. I could just send them my media kit.

Social Media. This is something I really need to work on. I am not a naturally sociable/outgoing person and I struggle to make conversation. I thought it would be different online but apparently not. I have been trying to interact more on my twitter account these past few weeks but this needs to be over everything more than I am doing right now.

Buffer. I have signed up to the free Buffer account but I have yet to use it. I need to take a day, slow learner, to learn how it works and set it up efficiently for me for those times ↑ I am being less sociable than I could be.

I think I will leave it there for now before my to-do list turns into an essay and is still hanging around waiting to be done in December! Wish me luck 🙂

  2. I should have a look at the old pictures too. I didn’t pay attention to SEO a couple of years ago and now I have to update the posts.

  3. ooh good luck with your list. This month i’m taking a huge break from “to do items” for the first time in a year (due to health reasons) but they are always good to have “lists” and i’ll be working on some of these things in the coming months.

  4. I have just signed up for a buffer account but I am only using it to share my posts 4 times a day, I think. I am bit scared about doing more. If you are looking for blogging tips then Aby and her series on You Baby Me is really good. She talks about how to sort out SEO etc 🙂

    1. I read abys tips a lot she is great isn’t she. I have literally just scheduled my first tweets hope I’ve done it right
