Laundryheap: A Real Life Laundry Fairy God Mother
Did you know laundry is the second most time-consuming chore in the UK? Brits spend, on average, 102 minutes a week doing laundry. For parents of teenagers, this is per day * (*this fact may or may not be accurate, but in this house, it is).
I have been stuck in a vicious cycle of washing our clothes this summer. Load the once clean, still unworn, dog-scented clothes back into the laundry basket for the process to be repeated over and over until the end of time. Leaving them to pile up on the kitchen table, which has never been sat at to eat; it is a laundry shelf with seats, tbh. Then taking them upstairs. Not putting them away. Watching Tegan roll around in our piles of clean washing. Sigh. We are stuck in a perpetual laundry cycle of hell of our making.
I am pleased to say I have nearly broken this cycle; I have been putting my clothes away to avoid Tegan making a beagle a den in my room as she sleeps in my bed. I will leave it up to your imagination as to how teenagers think putting washing away works! If you know, you know, right!
Laundry, Laundry and More Laundry!
I have to admit, doing the washing makes me feel like my soul is being sucked out of my body. Mostly the putting-it-away part of the process. But sadly, there is no magic spell to have the washing done for me. Nor can I sing well to rope the animals into helping me like Cinderella. And there is even less chance of conning said teenager into helping do the laundry.
With working from home, looking after a diva beagle who loves to sleep on wet towels (don’t even ask; I don’t understand either), and being the parent to a new sixth form student who is relishing going into school in her own clothes, it’s never-ending, and honestly, it is exhausting. Plus, add in the Fibro, and the fact I have no sense of smell and the issue is a nightmare. As I cannot smell if things need to be washed, they get washed anyway.
I love still being able to hang washing on the line; it’s been a lifesaver this summer. I do have a washer-dryer, but I’ll be honest, I don’t like it, and the cost of running the dryer, plus figuring out what won’t shrink in it, makes me wary of using it. And with the increased cost of gas and electricity kicking in at the same time, I will need to start drying and washing indoors; the laundry dramas are about to be kicked up a notch. Dramatic? Absolutely. But I know I’m not alone.

So, where does that leave me? I know I’m not alone in wondering why I have to suffer for the rest of my life in the laundry cycle of hell. That is until I heard of Laundryheap.
Laundry Made Easier With Laundryheap
Close your eyes and for one minute, imagine what you would do with all the extra time you would have if you didn’t spend it slaving over the washing machine.
How much money would you save by not washing and drying your laundry inside the house? If a magical laundry fairy carried away all of your washing and delivered it back to you, ready to wear and smelling fresh?
While sadly, I have to say the laundry fairy doesn’t exist; the next best thing is a laundry delivery service that does just that.
Laundryheap is a same-day laundry and dry cleaning service that you can book online and have your laundry collected from you and delivered back to you all within a 24-hour turnaround.
I am absolutely here for this! And it is available in my area! It is highly unusual for me, and usually, the closest is Liverpool (head to the locations page to find out if this magical service is available in your area too).
How To Use Laundryheap
The process of booking your laundry in is pretty simple. All you need to do is to head to the website or check out the app. Book in a time slot that works for you. Pack your items into a disposable bag and wait for the driver to arrive. From here, you will be kept updated on the progress of your order and when you can expect it back to you. It’s really that simple.
If you feel like this is something you can benefit from, head to the website to check out their services in your area and get a helping hand to free up your time or eliminate the daily chore of laundry quickly.

A service like this is probably quite pricey but I guess if our washing machine ever breaks again, I can use their services for those emergency moments
I like the sound of Laundryheap! In winter I struggle to keep up with washing due to not owning a tumble drier
