5 fall hairstyles you should try in 2019

The NUYU team are facing up to another summer passing, and the oncoming fall leaves.  Fall is a beautiful time of year, with its spray of reds, golds and auburns.  The humidity has passed, and the abuse of the salt and chlorine from swimming away hot days are a memory. Your hair will thank you for some love and care at this time of changing seasons.

Therefore, with a trip to the stylist necessary, you might as well make most of the visit and seek the best fall hairstyles for 2019.  Let’s guide you through some of the most stylish options.

Retro Glam

It could be time to let your hair down.  You no longer need to worry about damp hair glued to your face and your neck.  You can let your locks flow.  What better way to show off luxurious length then to go for the timeless and the chic?  Think back to the glamour of the Hollywood movie heyday, with the glossy shine and waving detailing around the face.

To get this look, start with a strong and deep side parting.  You should blow-dry the hair, using a setting spray for each section. Then you need to use a ¾ inch curling iron, wrapping hair around the wand while twisting.  You are looking for that S wave for the retro style.

To complete the look, take a pin, push your hair back from your face. You are looking to pin back the side away from your parting. Then, finish with some flexible hairspray to add that all-important shine.

Twisted Bun

You may want to keep your tan on show for just a little longer, and so you opt for pulling your hair off your face and shoulders. A bun can look lazy and messy, and sometimes this is cool too.  However, with some effort and a hint of imagination, you can make your bun look full of glam and chic.  You can play with the shape and size, as well as experiment with your bangs for some face-framing.

To get the look, you should secure your ponytail first.  Use some hair oil, especially if you are going to pull the hair sharply off the face.  Take sections of hair in your ponytail, twist and pin.  Use a strong hairspray with each twist and pin to keep that bun in place.

Blunt Bob

If you want a clean look for your fall hairstyles, then there is nothing fiercer than the blunt bob.  Your hair will have a great cut, with the stylist shaping the ends and the fringe, and cutting through the thickness to allow for the hair to fall straight to the shoulders.

You will need to trust your stylist for this cut. You will need to ask how short you will need to go to get those sharp geometric lines. Remember, the shorter the hair, the less maintenance necessary to get that shape.

The bob is experiencing something of a resurgence, and it offers some versatility for the fall months.

Crimped

We are not talking 80s crimp, which is ironed in place with a hint of halo frizz.  The crimp that has made a comeback in 2019s Fall fashion runway shows is the loose but voluminous wave of the crimp of the early 2000s.  It gives you a carefree look, but with an edge.

To get the look, you will need a crimper and some texturizing spray.  You will need to work with one-inch sections, just working your way down the length.  If this sounds fussy, the other option is to tie your hair in a three-strand braid and then spray before removing the twist.  The use of braids is quicker and a little kinder on the hair than using a crimper throughout.

Low Ponytail

The low ponytail can be a lazy look, but with a touch of creativity and a little more effort, it can be stunning.  It is a classic look that gives a hint of sophistication, especially if you work some texture into the tail.

With this look, the products you choose are essential.  You need to smooth out the roots and the spray to add some shine.  You should gather your hair about an inch about the hairline and secure with a bungee.  The way you secure your hair could add some intricate detail, wrapping the hair around the elastic and securing with a pin.

The overall trend

Fall hairstyles for 2019 seem to celebrate length.  Not only do stylist want to see your locks flowing over your shoulders, but they want some clever detailing – whether it is in the waves or the intricate knotting.
