Workout Ideas for the Busy Mum

Parenting is a challenge, especially for your mind and body. When you’re a busy mum, you have little time to work out, and this not only affects your body but your mind too. You can get depression, anxiety, and have other health effects, too.

However, it’s hard for mums to find time to work out. Between taking care of the kids, working, and resting, how can you stick a workout in it? Here are a few workout ideas for busy mums.

Therapy for motivation

If you’re having trouble getting the motivation to work out, are suffering, or just need someone to talk to, online counselling and therapy can make you feel better and help you accomplish your goals. They can help with any situation, be it marriage advice or raising your kids.

There is a bit of a stigma towards working out at home. Everyone assumes that you won’t get a full workout unless you go to the gyms. Gyms are great, but not everyone lives close to one or has one that’s affordable. If you’re a mum, working out at home is a good idea. Best of all, you don’t have to spend much on equipment, if at all. Sit-ups, pilates, and other aerobic fitness activities can be done with ease and are some examples of easy workout ideas for busy mums.

Why not get your partner to help you out and you can get fit together. Check out this site for additional resources for ideas on how you can work out together at home.

Play With Your Kids

Your kids need an hour of play a day. You may sit back as they run outside, playing games and whatnot. Why not join them? That’s right. There are many activities you can do with your kids that are not only fun but can get your blood pumping. Get Up a Little Earlier or Stay Up Later and Work Out

This is a bit of a tricky rule. You don’t want to sleep deprive yourself, as little sleep can lead to weight gain and poorer health. However, if you can get up a bit earlier and work out for 30 minutes or so, and still sleep a good amount, you may be able to see a difference in health.

If you’re really jam-packed in your schedule, consider working out while you’re at work. This sounds a bit challenging, but it can be done. When you’re on a break, some quick and easy workout ideas include stretch your legs and do a few sit-ups. Try running to work instead of driving if you live close to your workplace. There are many ways you can get the blood pumping at your job and still be able to accomplish your work.

Cook More

Instead of buying fast food for your family, which is filled with all sorts of bad stuff, why not try to cook a little more? Cooking can require physical activity, and the foods you cook can be tastier and better for you than the alternative. Try it out and see what we mean.

Don’t Forget Diet

Speaking of diet, it’s just as important as working out, even more so. Eating processed, fast foods can make you feel worse, both physically and mentally. Drinking too much, eating too many sweets, and all that bad stuff can make you feel worse, and you need to work out even harder. If you’re busy, plan your meals. Cook the night before and store your food. You can be able to do it and feel better about yourself in the long run.

While everyone is busy, your health is still important. Try to be healthy, and be a workaholic, too. What workout ideas for busy mums do you have?

Very helpful, thank you. It’s very important to address the psychological side, and to focus on what’s right for you rather than what’s “normal”.
