What Does the Future Hold for One Frazzled Mum

One Frazzled Mum is now over 6 and a half years old. In some ways, it is like a small child I have nurtured and come to love. I miss it when I can’t or don’t write. I want to write. And I do daily, a lot. Yet over recent months, it has become apparent to me that maybe One Frazzled Mum isn’t where I want to write.

I am still that frazzled mum who literally has no idea what is going on, what day it is or even how I got here. But her I am.Way into my 7th year of blogging and at a crossroads. Actually, I have been at the crossroads for a while now and I seemed to have stalled. Well, stalled, abandoned the car and headed to the nearest coffee shop to watch the drama unfold from my abandonment.

In more recent times, I have dismissed my lack of publishing original posts on simply being too busy. On not having any inspiration. And I have ploughed on regardless of unwanting and unwilling to give up on my second child.

One Frazzled Mum.

Because at the end of the day, I do love blogging. I love writing and I love what I do with a passion. But none of that passion and desire I have seems to be aimed at One Frazzled Mum. My baby is at risk of becoming the black sheep of the family. There has been blood, sweat, tears and copious amounts of drama and it holds so much of me I am loathed to give it up. But do I need to?

I am fiercely protective of this blog. It is more than a space online to write and I credit this site for helping me become a better person and realise, finally what I want to do with my life. I want to do this. I want to write and blog and post ridiculous Facebook statuses to the minute handful of my over 2k followers who actually see what I write.

I no longer blog about being a mum as I am the proud owner of a teenager who has requested I don’t. My fiction inspiration is few and far between as my fingers skim the keyboard composing other wordy works of art for other blogs and other people.

One Frazzled Mum and More New Blogs

You see, I am now the owner of another 3.5 blogs. Three more I am solely responsible for and one I share with another fabulous blogger, Rachel from Coffee, Cake, Kids. I am the owner of more planners than you can shake a stick at and for every other blog than One Frazzled Mum I have over 30 blog post ideas to start me off. And the excitement to write them all. I have found my fire, the thing I have been missing for the longest time and I cannot wait to lose hours and days sat at my laptop writing.

Yet when you come to the page for blog post ideas for One Frazzled Mum. There is one post. This one. To write on this blog about how I have lost my passion for this site and where that leaves me today.

Will I get rid of One Frazzled Mum? Absolutely not. Will I change direction? I honestly am not even sure it has another direction for me to turn to. I feel I am at the wrong end of a one-way street facing a brick wall stating no entry.

Where Do I Go from Here with One Frazzled Mum?

For now, I don’t know. Do I try to force the topic and wait for the inspiration to come back or do I accept that the blog has naturally run its course and leave it online? The answer is that in my heart I know. My head knows the answer is the same as my heart. It is the emotional comfort blanket I know I should put to rest yet can’t bear to lose just yet.

There are many fun gift guides, reviews and competitions to come to bring 2020 to a close. During the next few months, I will be working on my newer blogs and reassessing the validity of One Frazzled Mum in the new year.

Times are a changing and I feel I need to change with them. But one thing is for certain, I will not be removing One Frazzled Mum. All the work I have put into it over the past six-plus years will remain online. Will it be updated and posted on regularly after the new year? Maybe not but only time will tell what the future and 2020/21 has in store. I’m not making any rash or permanent decisions. But I do know changes are needed, they are on the way even if they don’t include One Frazzled Mum.

6 and a half years old. Is it perhaps just time to step back, review, recharge, etc. Then clarity may come. Seems possibly a change, as surely by 7 years:- Time to reflect, refresh, re – energise, renew.

It would be nice if the blog continued, though adapted / updated, etc.

Best Wishes with your time of contemplation.
