Olivia’s Tuesday LookBook: April’s Style
Welcome back to another week of Olivia’s Tuesday LookBook. This week I am featuring April’s Style. April is the daughter Mackenzie Glanville over at Reflections of Me. One of my favourite bloggers.
Olivia’s Tuesday LookBook is a new children’s style series for Olivia’s Corner. Anyone is welcome to join in and we would love to have you! If you would like to know more please head over to the Olivia’s Tuesday LookBook page for more information.
I always wanted a little girl, I dreamed about how I would dress her and how I could do her hair, but one thing you quickly learn when you become a parent is that your daughter will very quickly develop a mind of her own! Now don’t get me wrong this is a good thing, in fact it is great! I want my daughters to have their own opinions and to be strong minded, well mostly I do! But every now and then it would be nice if they would just wear what I want them to when we are going out somewhere, I mean really is that too much to ask????
Yes my days of dressing up my girls are gone, they have their own style and it is actually pretty awesome watching them become their own people and choosing outfits they feel reflect their personalities and individual style.
I have two daughters Aspen who is my tween, and April who is 9. Today thanks to Tracey I am joining in her LookBook Series and featuring some of April’s favourite styles and outfits. April has always had a unique look with her strawberry hair, fair skin and blue eyes so washed out colours or creams don’t really suit her. When I asked her what her style is now, she simply answers “pretty”. I guess that is what what we all want really, just to feel good in what we wear, to feel pretty, and also comfortable so we can head out into the world with confidence.
Here April has teamed a classic casual white T from Target with a pretty Oobi skirt, she had gumboots on her feet at the time because that’s the kind of kid she is.

One of her favourite things to wear is her short overalls, she lives in these. Hat and Overalls from Pavement and T from Zara

This was taken when she was younger, it is still her all time favourite ballet outfit, and she now hangs it in her bedroom as a decoration.

Give April anything with a cat, bunny, unicorn or puppy on it and she will love to wear it! Bright skirt from Bonds.

She loves a classic pair of jeans, and cardigans are her favourite. She always feels colder than the rest of us, so is often wearing a cardigan. Cardigan from Country Road. Jeans by Seed.

Again she loves to snuggle in a fluffy jumper and some leggings when she is feeling cold. And she is crazy about bandanas and headbands right now. Outfit from Pavement.

Here she is wearing a blue and white dress from Target. Blue really suits her, but pink is her favourite colour!

For the most part she has a pretty good sense at putting an outfit together. She loves feeling pretty and being warm. But one of my favourite things about my quirky girl is that she doesn’t care what others think about her outfit. If she wants to wear gumboots with a designer skirt she will.
Thanks again Tracey and Olivia for letting us pop over and share April’s style with you.

Great style! I loved the short dungarees. I wish adults looked good in them too!
Thank you so much for featuring April! I loved doing this and feel so happy that you welcomed me and my daughter to your gorgeous blog xx
What a beautiful girl April is! I love the photos here – especially the first one. The red skirt really stands out and looks lovely on here.
Thank you for linking up to #KCACOLS and I hope to see you back again on Sunday x
She looks very happy. The red skirt is really pretty. I like it. #kcacols
It’s a lovely skirt isn’t it! I love this post
Her hair is just gorgeous, and she really does look so good in blue! I can’t wait to see how my daughter’s style develops as she gets older, I’m really curious as to what she’ll be drawn to. x #KCACOLS
She does look great doesn’t she! My daughter has a very certain style and will only wear what she feels comfortable in not what others are wearing!
What great style! I wish I was brave enough to wear some of those bright colours 🙂 #KCACOLS
Oh me too, I’m all about the blacks and greys right now!
I absolutely adore girls in blue too, especially navy! You only get so long dressing them before they make their own minds up, but I have to say, she puts her outfits together better than I do!! #KCACOLS
Exactly, my daughter now picks her own clothes and I miss dressing her. But I agree, April has much better style than me!
