How to Preserve Your Special Wedding Memories

Your wedding is one of the most special days of your life, and after all of the effort you put in with planning, you of course, want to remember as much of it as possible. Here are a few of the ways you can go about this, turning elements of your wedding into a time capsule that you can look back on forever!

Photos and Videos

Your photos are such an important part of your wedding; they’re the best way to transport yourself right back to the day. Chances are your big day passed in a blur of nerves and excitement, but with good pictures and videos, you get to relive it again and again from different perspectives. You get to see the way your dress blew in the breeze, the way your groom looked at you, and how your beautiful wedding venue looked from every angle. As well as the incredible content produced by your photographer and videographer, ask wedding guests to share with you anything they captured of the day too. Adding things like disposable cameras to tables or hiring a photo booth for some fun snaps is another way to get pictures of your day too. Go through everything and pick out your favourites, make a wedding album and be sure to display photos in your home, too, so you can see them every day. You can use the photos to make things like calendars for family and friends as gifts and include the photos that they’re in.

Flowers

Your flowers will have been an important part of your day, bringing in colour and decoration and tying in perfectly with your theme. If you want your flowers to last forever, then you could have your bouquet made from faux or silk flowers and display them in your home. If you want to go with fresh blooms, you could preserve them by pressing them or having them set in resin. Lots of companies on Etsy offer this; you simply ship your flowers to them right after the event.

Vows

Did you write your own wedding vows? Chances are you spent hours carefully crafting your words, rehearsing them and coming up with a script that was truly beautiful and meaningful to you and your partner. So why not consider turning them into a visually appealing piece of art that you can hang up in your home? You could have a graphic designer create something for you or even get a calligrapher to create a beautifully hand-lettered version. Put it in a frame and display it in your home; that way, you have a daily reminder of the promises and emotions that you exchanged on your wedding day.

Guestbook

Your wedding guestbook will be filled with heartfelt messages and well wishes from your friends and family, so instead of stashing it away, why not transform it into a meaningful piece of decor? You could frame select pages, those with particularly touching messages or ones that capture the overall atmosphere of your wedding would be ideal. Or you could choose an alternative guestbook that’s designed to be displayed after the event, like this peg version or wooden token guestbook.
