The Avoalre Travel Yoga Mat: Is It Any Good?
Recently, I decided to rejoin a new gym that has opened up near me. I had been a member of our local council gyms for a while but only used my pass sporadically for aqua and Zumba classes. I didn’t venture into the gym or use it much, so I cancelled it.
But I knew that I needed a gym membership of some sort, so I signed up at a gym that offers a private workout space. Somewhere, I can exercise alone with all the equipment I need and not wait for others to finish or be embarrassed about working out in public.
So when I received the Avoalre Travel Yoga Mat to Review, I knew it would be great for my upcoming gym activities.
The Avoalre Travel Yoga Mat

The Avoalre Travel Yoga Mat comes in a bag you can carry around your mat wherever you go. Whether you work out at Ohme in a gym or you need to take it with you when travelling. It opens up small, goes back into the bag for easy access when needed, and has safe storage when you don’t.
The mat itself is made from memory foam and is 30x30x8 cm. and I actually felt it was a little thicker and sturdier than previous yoga mats I have used. I like the fact it comes already with folding lines, so you can easily open and lock it without having to force it into the bag if you don’t fold it correctly. The lines are slightly perforated, but not so much that you will be able to break the sections apart easily unless you are physically trying to (which you shouldn’t). This means to me they have put more thought into people being easily able to carry the mat with ease and be as portable as possible.

I took the mat to the gym with me and decided to use it for my cool-down stretches and my mobility movements, as it’s been a while since I worked out.
For the purpose of this review, I also decided to “accidentally” spill water on the mat, and it wiped off pretty easily; so if you have this issue, you can simply wipe any spills off the mat without any damage (unless you don’t clean it right away as with anything).
The mat was comfortable to use and provided stability under my feet when doing my mobility exercises, and it has been a staple part of my gym kit since then. I pop it down when I’m ready to hit the floor, as my current workout schedule revolves around weight training. It is recommended to remove footwear before use so as not to cause additional damage to the mat and to keep it in good condition.
You can, if you wish, choose to keep the mat folded to help you with other exercises, not just yoga and pilates. The 5mm thickness means it’s ideal for a range of workouts and, when folded, can give your ankles and heels extra support when doing different exercises and lifting weights, too. The mat has quite a good depth to it when fully folded. This is most definitely something I will be trying when I vary my workouts from my current plan.

Another bonus is that it easily fits into the bag it comes with once folded correctly, has two shoulder straps for easy carrying, and doesn’t weigh too much at all.
Would I Recommend the Avoalre Travel Yoga Mat?

If you’re looking for a yoga mat you can take to the gym or classes with you that doesn’t keep unrolling when not in use, then this foldable mat is the perfect solution. If you need a yoga mat that is easily stored at home or in the boot of your car, then this will be ideal.
I honestly never thought about the practicalities of carrying a yoga mat around as I didn’t do this frequently, but now I have this foldable yoga mat, I am sold on how beneficial it is. It easily folds up without losing any of the functionality or support.
