How Using CBD Products Help Manage Illness

The number of health benefits CBD products provide can explain why, in 2018 alone, CBD sales went up to $238 million, more than double the previous year’s sales record. A poll found that at least 10% of North Americans aged from 18 to 44 are regular users of cannabidiol products.

Other reasons include the decreasing perception of the negative stigma associated with cannabis, the increasing number of places legalizing CBD use, easier consumer access to CBD products, and more people voicing out the ways that CBD products have helped them in managing various illnesses in themselves, in people they know, or in their loved ones.

While some researchers are verifying CBD elements’ anti-ischemic and anti-fibrotic properties, other scientists are looking into other applications for cannabidiol, such as in treating neurodegenerative disorders such as prion disease spinocerebellar ataxia, motor neuron disease, and spinal muscular atrophy.

How CBD Products Work

CBD is the short form of cannabidiol, one out of more than 100 chemical compounds present in cannabinoids that are found in plants such as marijuana, hemp, cacao, echinacea, black truffles, sunflowers, liverwort, and rhododendron, Humulus krya (hops) and black pepper. Unlike THC, which contains psychoactive chemicals, CBD is neither intoxicating nor addictive and legal in many places.

CBD triggers bodily receptors that, in turn, stimulate the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) to produce more endocannabinoids that help alleviate pain and anxiety. At the same time, the ECS regulates bodily functions such as the brain, glands, organs, nerves, and immune cells. This is ultimately what makes CBD a potent illness manager. This is how increased production of endocannabinoids alleviate pain, boost the immune system, restore the nerves, and so on.

These properties make it a perfect ingredient for many products, including skincare. You don’t need just to ingest CBD; you can apply it in different ways. Many companies use private label cbd skincare to help break into this market and offer users another way to add CBD to their lifestyle.

If you want to look at alternatives to CBD, other options are on the market. If you use responsibly, delta 8 THC and delta 9 TCH work similarly to the receptors in our endocannabinoid system, offering similar therapeutic effects.

Epilepsy

Many users have found that CBD can manage epilepsy and seizures. Epidiolex, a CBD oil, has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treating the two epilepsy types known as Davet and Lennox-Gastaut. At the same time, people can also use CBD products alongside warfarin and clobazam, medications used to treat epilepsy.

To get maximum benefits from CBD, you want to make sure you choose the best CBD products from a reputable retailer to ensure you are buying quality CBD at a potency that can help your symptoms.

Cancer

Recent research shows that CBD products can be instrumental in slowing the growth of cancer cells and shrinking cancerous tumours. For instance, CBD triggers the production of endocannabinoids that help and slow the development of the cancer cells and strengthen the immune system after chemotherapy treatments.

CBD products effectively reduce post-chemotherapy effects such as nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. Recently, the FDA approved the use of Marinol and Cesamet, two cannabinoid drugs for use in the management and treatment of these post-chemotherapy symptoms.

Arthritis or Joint Pain

People with arthritis experience pain, stiffness, and decreased freedom of movement that, over time, usually increase in severity. According to the Arthritis Foundation, some 300,000 children and at least 54 million adults in North America have arthritis or other rheumatic disorders that cause joint pain, inflammation, and depression and anxiety caused by these disorders.

While over-the-counter and prescription medications for arthritis and joint pain, concerns about side effects drive many towards natural alternatives; for instance, cannabidiol extracts in CBD products have been used as oral anti-arthritic therapy. At the same time, the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving benefits of CBD has been observed by many users after they applied CBD-based topical creams or ointments on affected joints or skin areas.

Multiple sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a medical condition that targets the nerves and brain. Due to breaking down the functions of the nerves, it causes pain and discomfort around the whole body.

CBD products use ECS to alleviate this medical condition. It also reduces the inflammation that results from multiple sclerosis. Aside from that, CBD products are also actively used to treat nervous system disorders such as neuronal injury and neurodegeneration.

Chronic Pain

Diverse parts of the body experience pain due to deviation from the body’s standard wellbeing. CBD products trigger the ECS to produce endocannabinoids; this, in turn, regulates body pain. This exceptional attribute of the CBD is known as the CBD’s analgesic properties.

Cardiovascular Disease

The CBD-triggered endocannabinoids help moderate the heartbeat rate and blood pressure. Also, researchers found that the constant use of CBD moderately reduces the chances of suffering strokes and heart attacks.

Inflammation And Pain

CBD can alleviate general body inflammation and condition-generated inflammation, diverse inflammatory conditions such as chronic intestinal inflammation, skin inflammations, inflammatory skin disorder, inflammatory bowel disease, and even brain inflammation. CBD products can also reduce the pain arising from inflammation.

Migraine

A long history of the traditional use of endocannabinoids in relieving migraines precedes the modern use of CBD. When larger-scale production of CBD products began, more people found relief by using CBD to treat migraine and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Other studies found that CBD with TCH consistently alleviates different types of headaches.

The most common headaches are hypertension headaches, caffeine headaches, sinus or allergy headaches, cluster headaches, hormone headaches, and exertion headaches.

Diabetes

CBD products have a positive impact on diabetic patients. It is known to lower the sugar level in the blood. Also, CBD products decrease insulin resistance and boost hormone levels to regulate the sugar level.

Thyroid Disorder

Endocannabinoids have been found to regulate the neurons that control the functioning of the thyroid gland. For people experiencing thyroid disorder, CBD products help manage abnormal thyroid hormone secretion. At the same time, CBD products help reduce the inflammation of the thyroid gland, thus getting the thyroid back into shape.

Takeaways

CBD products are nonaddictive and provide various therapeutic and wellness benefits. CBD products have no significant side effects and are increasingly available to many users as a natural alternative to traditional medications.
