My 4 Week Detox with Nutriplan.

Recently I was given the opportunity to try out one of Nutriplan 4 detox boxes. Having never done any type of detox before I was sent the bronze 4 week plan to start me off on my detoxing journey. The box is jam packed with goodies like matcha tea, acai berry, spirulina and more!

So before we get into my review lets have a little look at what you can expect in a 4 Week Bronze Detox Box.

The instructions are pretty easy to follow. You incorporate these into your diet and eat as normal. The detox lasts for 5 days with a 2-day break in between week cycles. I chose to do this detox directly after a family holiday to make sure it wasn’t ruined by excessive alcohol and eating of junk food. Although I did have to make a conscious effort to make sure to improve my diet as, as we are all well aware, I am a lover of all things junk foody!

All ingredients are chosen for their cleansing properties and ability to help aid in weight loss. Taken in conjunction with a healthy diet and lifestyle detox boxes are a great way to clear out toxins from your body.

Matcha Tea. Is chosen for its ability to metabolise fat and increase performance. A concentrated form of traditional green tea it can be up to 137 times more powerful.

Acai Berry. Infamous for their antioxidant content. The antioxidant can help combat harmful effects of environmental toxins eg cigarette smoke. Acai Berry also contain heart-healthy fats too!

Lean Green Shake. Is a powder made of 10 natural ingredients and condenses them and their nutrients into one shake. Includes Spirulina, Barley Grass, Spinach, Kale, Broccoli, Watercress, Avocado Juice, Carrot, Oat Fibre and Blackcurrant extract.

Raspberry Ketones. A natural compound derived from red raspberries, ketones are rich in vitamins, minerals and polyphenols. The are also recognised for their ability to aid in weight loss and increase lean body mass.

Spirulina. A super nutrient containing a full spectrum of benefits. Spirulina is a fantastic source of antioxidants and is rich in protein to help curb those cravings.

Yerba Mate Tea. Used for centuries by tribes who believe in it’s ability to focus, reenergise and rejuvenate the body.

First up the box, packaging and presentation are amazing there is so much thought gone into presenting this detox and making it easy to use and fit into your life. Each week has its own labelled zip close bag. Each bag has 5 little bags inside, 1 for each day. Everything you need is all contained, except for things that you need to add eg water, fruit etc obvs. The whole box just screams quality. If they put that much effort into the presentation it bodes well for the quality of the ingredients.

I loved that you don’t need to change your normal diet unless it’s mine then an overhaul was needed anyway, and you don’t have to starve to see results. The whole plan is really easy to fit into your days with minimal fuss. It’s pretty much the same idea as a meal replacement type diet but without replacing the meals and the raging hunger that goes along with it. I think for my first detox it was the right way to go as opposed to one where you have to only have the detox/cleanse products. I would have found that really difficult to stick to. This is just a case of remembering to take the products. I kept mine out on the kitchen worktop to remind me. There are also tips and hints for the best ways to enjoy your detox with different recipes online too and also on the information sheet included in the box.

Ok, I’m going to be totally honest here, I really couldn’t take to the taste of the Matcha Tea at all. I tried it on its own, with lemon, in coffee, as a latte with hazelnut milk and also in a smoothie but I’m sorry it just wasn’t for me. I can honestly say I don’t think I will be trying it again! The Yerba Mate tea was much more drinkable, the flavour wasn’t quite as strong as the Matcha and I found it a more enjoyable drink to start my mornings off with. The lean green shake I had as a smoothie and on its own and whilst it tasted much better in a smoothie (recipe in box) it was also drinkable on its own. But I would recommend adding it to something for a bit more taste. Lastly, the Acai Berry shake mix I blended with summer fruits and berries and it was really enjoyable.

This was the unfortunate time I fell off the exercise waggon. I know, I know, *hangs head in shame* My usual enthusiasm for working out dwindled a lot thanks to literally everyone I go to the gym with cancelling a lot and me not being able to get to the classes I wanted without being picked up. This being said I was doing around 2/3 HIIT workouts a week and a half-hearted attempt at YouTube Zumba once a week. There was the odd few Zumba classes but not as many as I would have liked. Not a lot really for me though and for a girl of my size, it really showed. All of the ingredients included do help with weight loss and appetite control. Although I didn’t know what to expect with regards to results with weight loss I did lose some weight, around 5lb. With me not working out as much, my body didn’t look or feel like it as I didn’t look or feel as toned as I did. I do feel much healthier in myself though.  I definitely felt rejuvenated and not so sluggish so there were also results in that area too.

Would I do it again?

Right now, I’m going to have to say no. This isn’t a reflection on the detox box I was sent at all, possibly the Matcha Tea, but more on me and where I am right now. I think had I had a healthier diet the results would have been more noticeable for sure on the outside but for me, this was about feeling healthier from the inside too not just how I look in the mirror. The surprise weight loss (only because I got on the scales at my mums’ one day I don’t like the scales) was a bonus for me as I wasn’t expecting any at all with the lack of working out.

I totally recommend this for those who want to feel healthier on the inside. Maybe you want to flush out toxins after a change of diet or over indulgence, this would work well for that. I think people who are looking to shed those last few stubborn pounds or inches after a weight loss would benefit from this type of detox too.

*Disclaimer: I was sent a detox box in return for my honest thoughts on the box and to share my results*

  1. At first I was going to comment no way I’d do it – as I assumed it would be meal replacement like the usual…I’m still breastfeeding and I like to look after my body by feeding it properly so I won’t diet. Then I read your comment about just adding these products in. I still think I’d struggle as I forget to take a spoonful of iron supplement every day despite the fact my iron levels are low and my hair is falling out! Maybe that’s just frazzled mama problems!? #KCACOLS

  2. It’s great to see such an honest review 🙂
I’ve heard about Matcha Tea before, but wasn’t sure what it was. I’m not sure I want to try it now either!

Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday:)

  3. A great review Tracey, very honest which is what I like about a review, and what a review should be. A huge well done with sticking to the detox for one week, the Matcha tea does not sound good, and I think that I would have trouble drinking that. I love the packing of the box, and how it arrives all packaged making it easy for you to use. Like you said, it’s great that you can stick to your normal diet and not have to starve yourself – I dislike diets where you can’t eat what you want, my belief is all in moderation. Please don’t give yourself a hard time for not exercising, we all have times like that, it’s great that you are doing some exercise. Finally a big well done on the weight loss! 4. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a detox plan which didn’t involve changing your diet too – you’d think that carrying on eating as normal would make it really difficult.
I think I’d really struggle with the matcha too!
Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested this week x

  5. A great honest review! I’m really into weight loss products at the moment as I’m trying to research what works long term and I haven’t seen this box before! It will definitely be added to my list to try as I love the fact you can actually eat food as well as follow it! I cant do the just shakes and soups at all, I need to eat! Also the weight you lost sounds like good steady weight loss without the need to starve yourself! 🙂

  6. That’s a great review, I like the idea of a detox but Iv never really been one to do these plans as I tend to just try and do a little more exercise but I have noticed that it’s getting harder to do that with two small babies so it might be something I would consider now so it’s great to see someone’s thoughts on it. #KCACOLS xx

  7. It’s fab to see an honest review – sometimes I get the feeling people lie and say “I hated the taste of the tea in the beginning but by the end I loved it!” I’ve been considering something like this in prep for my summer holiday but I can’t take raspberry ketones – they make me feel constantly hungover 🙂 thanks for sharing on #fortheloveofBLOG

  8. I’m glad to read such an honest review chick. I’m always quite dubious about these detox plans; I think just everything in moderation and a bit of exercise can do just as good a job. Well done for giving it a go though. Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday xx
