Preparing For Those Boring Queue Waits In Advance: An Entertaining Guide

No one likes being stuck in a queue or waiting room. Odds are, it has happened to you, and it will happen to you again. While it’s true that the modern world is almost too stimulating sometimes, you’ll long for t back when watching the clock tick by with painful slowness while just trying to get an appointment or attending one.

Now, while we can’t remove these waits entirely, we can certainly make them more bearable. With some forethought and preparation, these usually frustrating periods can be changed a into surprisingly productive or entertaining segment of your day. But how might that work in practice? Let’s look at this, below:

Smartphone Games

The convenience of mobile games is how they can turn those dead minutes into something actually enjoyable, and if you download in advance you won’t have to wait to browse and find one you like. Passive ones you can play without audio are best, and lots of casual games work perfectly for short bursts of play -such as Vampire Survivors you can enjoy at your own pace and unlock as and when you want to engage in it. This also means you can feel less bad about gaming, it was dead time anyway, so now you get to have fun. Some people even enjoy games with a no deposit bonus if they like playing cards or other tournaments.

Audiobooks

Reading a physical book in a queue can be awkward – especially if you’re shuffling forward every few minutes or standing up. Audiobooks solve this pretty much perfectly provided you keep one ear bud out. You can listen while keeping an eye on the queue, and unlike podcasts, they don’t need you to remember where different episodes left off and usually retain your place. Suddenly that 40-minute wait becomes a chance to get through another chapter of that book you’ve been meaning to finish, so you’re actively becoming more of a reader despite just standing or sitting there. And yes, audio listens count as reading, authors say so themselves!

Spot Journalling

This one might sound a bit odd at first, but it’s a worthy habit to get into. Keeping a tiny notebook and pen handy can allow you to organize your day more easily and jot down thoughts that are coming to mind. Smartphone note apps work too, and some might even offer pen’s like with the Galaxy range, but there’s something quite tactical about having a mini notebook and pen too. You could write down some groceries to pick up after, jot down that idea that’s been floating around your head, or make plans for dinner. This helps you feel moe engaged, but it also encourages you to think more reflectively while in public, which many of us have somewhat forgotten how to do given how we walk around with earbuds and many other distractions. Learn to spot journal, and you may surprise yourself.

With this advice, we hope you can cope with even long queues in comfort.
